70.00 a butt(walnut) ouch!!!! the hardwood not much cheaper and not that nice looking i wonder what length they are ?normal or short or if they have different leagths ?
forestocks dont look to nice but the price is better 69.00 and 45.00

M36H

Yes, pretty pricey for the butts and the pics dont impress me. For that price, if there are different lengths, they should give you the size you want. Forestocks seem more reasonably priced.

"70.00 a butt(walnut) ouch!!!! "
These are Canadian C Broad aroow marked.... New un-issued, I was not aware that the market was flooded with these ??

"the hardwood not much cheaper and not that nice looking "
We are showing the wood exactly as we removed them from storage, we have not touched them.... We do clearly state that the wood shows stains from storage, we also note that the wood has not been stained or oiled in any way, allowing the buyer to finish it to match almost any finish desired....
If we had cleaned the wood and stained for the photos would that not be dishonest ?

"or if they have different leagths "
Simply ask when ordering, we will come as close as we can

"forestocks dont look to nice "
It would seem that being honest and showing exactly what the wood looks like is not well received.... ????

i guess open discussion is not really looked at in a positive way by you is it John?

People are just making comments and observations, that's all.

John, will there be sets available, or will we just mix and match when top guards become available?

I thought the wood looked good, but then again, I kind of like my milsurps a little on the dinged up side.

John there are still butts as new at the shows for $25.00-$35.00 in walnut with the Cbroadarrow the birch and beech are considerably cheaper ..forestocks as new sell for 75.00 to 100.00 sometimes a bit more depending on markings and if early canadian Mk1 forestocks (relieved for the mag cutoff) these sell for more ..Brit wood and Indian wood are always cheaper...I mean no disrespect but im just stating that the butts are really expensive ...forestocks are not too bad in price... i am wondering if the discolouration at the backend is caused by water and the dark area caused by the clip rusting .I understand that you are trying to show them as is as found its just when the ad reads never on a gun, absolutley mint, unused, we had our hopes up...just my 2 cents

...for some reason i couldnt log on anymore as marks 36 hamon so now just 36 hamon

36 hamon, and Light infantry are correct. A new unused matching set is very rare and 200 is about right. I unloaded 6 sets, from my collection, quickly in the recent past and this would be the very high end of stock values. Individual pieces new are seen sometimes and used seen all the time.
What is at the Shows and Here Recently. NEW butts and handguards 10-40 each. Forestocks 60-120. Long butts 30-60
USED butts and handguards 10-20. Forestocks 20-60. L butts 30-40.
Like in all collecting a premium is made on a rare piece or part. example a Long butt on #1 or #4 as most shooters could use these.
I will not comment on prices of complete Lee Enfields or other milsurps, at this time.
Individuals will sometimes just unload parts for personal reasons. And a business is,of coarse, a business.
We shall soon see what happens in 2012.
