I shoot revolver better than autos. Why?

I sold all of my semis to buy Smith & Wesson sixguns. It wasn't the guns' fault, my old man proved that out embarrassingly quickly with my P229. Some of us are just natural wheelgunners. Embrace it, we all know they are the superior choice. :)

I also shoot my S&W 686 better than I shoot pistols. My theory is that is is because most of the weight is in front of your hand, the forward weight results in the muzzle being more stable than a pistol that has most of its weight centered in or above your gripping hand.

What I can't figure is why his skill set with revolvers isn't transferring over to semi-autos'?? Anybody got any ideas?

I was thinking the same think and came up with an explanation for me anyways... I only have .22LR and 9mm semis and the recoil isn't really there in comparison to my .357 and .500 mags... No moving slide to eat up recoil, I hold a firmer grip on my revolvers. I shoot my .357 more accurately than any semi and yet shoot the .500 even more accurately than the .357.

Different semi also makes a difference. My Glock 17 shoots best, grip just feels right, still can't get used to 1911s be it 22LR, 9mm or 45ACP.
