Ruffed grouse are good eating, but I prefer partridge even more, if you are fortunate to have them in your hunting area.

OK. I saw you were from Fort Mac and you were referring to something else. Never saw a Hungarian that far north. At least I don't think I did.

Beauty. We have tonnes of ruffies in my hunting areas. Even having ruffies for dinner tonight

Could someone describe where it is best to look for grouse to this new hunter? The first one I saw last weekend was in a tree top, while the second one was on the ground. Are there kinds of trees they like to hang around in?
Also when they are flushed, do you take the shot when they're flying towards/through trees, or are you afraid of ricochet?
