I smell like bear tonight.

Nice Job. Do you keep any of the fat to use? I've heard that rendered bear fat makes great pastry, and that bear fat also makes a great boot water proofing treatment. Just curious. Cheers.
 
After having used many different cartridges to take blackies, I've yet to find anything that beats a .270 for consistent DRT kills. This cartridge just seems to have the magical balance of bullet weight and speed to absolutely hammer blackies. 95 lbs of deboned meat is pretty darn good too; the last bear I shot had only 50 lbs of deboned and fat trimmed meat.
 
Was out in the Caribou this weekend as well. Stalked close enough for a shot with my bow twice but one the cubs popped out and the other was too small for me.
Will be at it again tomorrow :)
