Available widely in the US any time now, maybe Marstar is already in negotiations? We can hope...

They sell CNC receivers that accept modified parts kits and sell complete semi rifles. Cool.

I think the bar receiver is $1000 US. the assembled and rebuilt gun is $2200 Us with a customer supplied torch cut parts kit.

Given Marstar has TONS of parts kits, I'd have to think they could retail these for under 4K Canadian if they so desired, especially considering they would likely get dealer pricing from Historic Arms LLC...

4k sounds like tops 50 sales in Canada over the next few years. Even to a collector whats the value of an american made bubba? Max I'd pay would be 1,500$.

Marstar can send me to some european country where they got some "new old stock" guns that magically never seen assembly and give me a mig welder and I will weld every single one to semi for 75$ a gun.

If they sold the receivers here for $1500 each and the parts kits less receiver for the $300 or so that they're really worth, I'd buy and build that gun.

They are already made in:

.303
7.62 NATO
7.62x54R

And I think I heard there is an 8mm Mauser version.

Also, you can get the following variants:

Mk1
MkII
L4A4
Any of the Czech ZB variants.

Well considering the receiver sells for $1100 USD, I don't think a $1500 Bren is coming to Canada anytime soon unless Norinco starts making it - sorry guys.

Maybe someone will make a kit to invert a SKS-D or VZ/CZ with the pinned banana mags sticking straight up!

Thats about the closest to something Bren-ish non-prohibbers will ever get.

I sincerely doubt that - if anyone in Canada wants one of these semi-brens, you just have to get a canada-friendly FFL to buy one on your behalf and then ship it to you up here.

It might take upwards of a year and cost alot of money, but it's do-able and 100% legal.

Yeah, and then watch the CFC/RCMP declare the barrel nut or some other obscure part, as the registerable item, and declare the whole thing a converted auto. Thats how they've stopped the semi-auto stens in this country.

I'd go to $2000 in a heartbeat for a decent looking Bren semi auto. Except that I would need 2 of them for the Bren carrier.

I think the precedent is quite clear that the Bren receiver is the CA part given all the torch-cut BATF rules parts kits that have come in privately and all the #### N Click dewat Brens around here.

In any event, if they allowed beltfed 1919's and MG34's in with no mag limits, then why prevent a 5 round Bren semi auto? Seems pointless. Would be like banning a 30 pound Reminton 7400

Whats the value of an American made bubba? Well a gun you can shoot beats a paperweight that you can't shoot!

By the way, thanks for My Inglis Mk1m that has a go fast switch. You folks make good stuff north of the border

as my bren rots in the basement with it's ca brothers 3 stens, C2A1, 1919A4. Mg 34, Mg42, C1A1, Mp44, Mp41 ,C1 stertling and last but not least VICKERS yeah I'm pissed

I'd rather just be able to shoot my CA Bren. It's already paid for. There's no rational difference between a properly CA'd MG, and one with a new receiver.

If the 12(x) thing is ever sorted, not all of us are as lucky as you are. Thus, we need to pin our hopes to these new receivers. Why is that so hard to understand?
