I think I found a good 30-06 bullet for the Voere!

I am the owner of a rather grumpy 30-06 semi auto hunting rifle that rarely shoots average 30-06 factory loads to any degree of "good." A Voere 2185. This rifle has a pretty funky trigger, and a pencil thin rifle barrel that does not shoot any more than three shots in quick succession, without heating up and vertically stringing groups badly. This last point is easy to live with for a deer rifle IMO.

Today I was given back some Federal Classic 30-06 ammunition loaded with the 125 grain Sierra Pro-Hunter SP bullet, that I gave to a friend for my brief sojourn in the eastern provinces. He kept it all this time and gave it back to me today, to try at the outdoor range. (Thank you Silverback!)

My first effort at 200 yards was a 3 shot 2.5inch group. I think I found something to work with finally! In the past this rifle always shot my handloads two shots really close at 100, and chucked the third away from the first two. And one is left with a wretched 3inch group at 100, instead of a 1 to 1.5inch group.

The Federal ammo box has the muzzle velocity of 3140 fps listed.

Anyways my question here is, can anyone recommend a good '06 powder for a barrel that is a hair under 20inches long??

Cheers & Merry Christmas! :)
