This is my first Mosin, a 91/30 manufactured in 1940, just picked it up yesterday, shoots about 2.5 inch groups with surplus ammo from 100 yards!

Anyone have any tips in regards to care/tweaking for accuracy?

Also, where can I order surplus ammo online?

Thanks guys!

Well done, is this your first milsurp or just your first Mosin?

If you check out surplusrifle.com there is a tutorial for shimming the trigger in order to make it lighter. But yours might already be fine.

As far as surplus X54 goes, the only place in Canada I know of that sells it online is Districorp.ca, and possibly marstar.ca, I'm sure there are more that someone else can point you to.

2.5 " at 100 yards with milsurp ammo isn't too shabby. Reloading with good bullets might get you a inch, but try some commercial factory hunting ammo and see what it does. It's suitable for deer, black bears and moose with the right bullet.
