Walked into P&D yesterday to snoop as they had a couple of rifles I was interested in handling. Walked out with a spanky new non-restricted CSA VZ-58 7.62x39 in FDE. That feeling when I pushed "OK" on the interac machine and walked out the door with my first new rifle in almost 10 years was awesome! I think I have found my drug of choice. Now I need to find a crate of ammo to keep it company and get some trigger time.

Yes, yes I know pics or it didn't happen. Working on it. Good cameras at work and I'm on Dad duty for the day with a sick wife.

Question now. Anyone know where I can round up an ambi safety? I can work the right side with my thumb but it would be nice to have both.
 
Congrats on the purchase! I know what you mean... I knew to stay away from Prophet River as that place would bankrupt me. Well just a few days ago, I saw a rifle online one night, the next morning I'm driving to Lloyd just to "see" it, nothing set in stone. "Right, that's what I'll tell myself!" I knew long before I even started the drive that I'd be spending some money, lol.

Get those pics up ASAP! Can't get enough vz-58's!
 
Thanks guys. I'll work on pics, might have to break down and take a cell phone teaser. I should have mentioned I'm left handed so I can run the safety with my left thumb but like I said having one on the other side would be nice.

I have a cz-858 and a vz-58 in .223. Building the cz up more like a sporting rifle. The vz is going to the dark side. Just cant deside what butt stock to use. I have a wood one, original folder and a b.b. painted with bed-liner. The wood is realy nice so its going on the cz and all the metal work is going matt black. I like the look of yours with the black stocks on it. It needs a bitt more black on the gun it self. Like the charging handle and the raised ribbs on the dust cover. It would break up the tan some what. Give it a bit more of a professional finish. Happy Crack heading lol

Never was much a fan of then but il admit thats an attractive looking rifle. P&D got me with a sniper mosin three years ago. Now i have six and two svts. Once you go red, your broke.
 
I'm itching to get it out to the range.....

barefut. 15 minutes after I walked out the door with it I started thinking about modifications.... thinking railed upper forestock, red dot, brake, AR magwell adaptor and 10 round XCR mags. But I like where your going with the cosmetic touches. Might have to pick up something to give it a try with. Might be a while before I have a chance to get to the range so I might as well have fun accessorizing.
