Nice pic, Dave, if not a bit scary. I wonder if anyone has any first hand experience with an actual booboo in the magazine of a 94 or other tube magazine rifle? Anyway, I have taken to using whatever ammo I like in the 94 (okay, TSX or TTSX), limiting myself to two rounds only with one in the chamber and the other in the magazine. When I think back, I have never fired more than two shots at anything I have put in the freezer...
Hmm... I've never seen this in any of my 150's yet.
Are these rounds perhaps loaded/unloaded several times without being fired? By the way my 150's have silver coloured primers. The brass ones are on the 180's. So are you 100% sure that these are factory loaded ammo?
I will be more careful regardless. So thank you for posting this photo and report. Like woodlotowner said, two rounds should be plenty while hunting, so I'll behave accordingly!
Looks like someone was a little overzealous with a Lee-Auto Prime.
