I think I love ACOG's!

Okay let me get this straight..... ACOG setup on AR with chest rig or ### single shot ($ 4000) with iron sights.... let's see..... decisions, decisions

Oh yeah, it is a great year not to be shooting in the ORA Annuals since it might be moved to Connaught.....

So enjoy the ACOG and forget all that single shot stuff. Come and shoot with us at small targets that appear for 3 seconds not like the 45 minutes with the 48" bullseye that I gave you in August 2004 at Mons Range...... yuk yuk yuk

Cheers and enjoy that addiction.... lots more fun than a single shot ###....

Barney,

God, don't you know it. I think I'm pretty much done with all the belly shooting. Got enough of that over my last three summers for a lifetime!

I had an EoTech, as I said in my first post, and always wanted an ACOG. A 10" barrel is still good out to about 300m, and if I'm shooting that far, I'd just switch to a bolt gun anyway!

I got the AR out the other day, and shooting with that ACOG is just too much fun. I love it all to pieces! The Sig came with me, and it's an absolutely amazing pistol. Shot low-left for me, and the windage has since been corrected. Very light recoil with the tungsten guide rod in her :)

Pavehammer:

Examine the left side (portside) of your ACOG. What is scribed on it? There will be a Bible reference like : JN 8:12 or something similar.

Let us know what's on the left side since Glyn Bindon (rest in peace) was a devout Christian who left us his legacy (the ACOG's).

Cheers,
Barney

Barney,

Yeah, I saw the thread over on ARFcom. John 8:12 is on my ACOG, which I guess is on all the 4x32 optics.

John 8:12 said:
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

We've also got a TA01 and a Reflex, but I'm sure Geoff will get on here and write out the quotes for those ones.

Here is how mine are marked:

ACOG TA01

ACOG4X32 JN8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Reflex II

REFLEX1X24 2COR4:6
For it is the God who said, “Let your light shine out of darkness' who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in Jesus Christ."

On the ACOG, did Jesus really mean that since He is the Light of the World, that anyone with an ACOG will "light up" their foe ?

yuk, yuk, yuk. As you paintballers can see, I am a former paintballer (2002 autococker)

Really, Glyn Bindon started up that process on the ACOG's before he passed away. We were discussing this interesting inscription on the Optics Forum.

Cheers,
Barney

I noticed the neatest thing the other day. In the very bottom center of the FOV, it tells you which model of ACOG you're using.

I thought I should share. I was pleasantly suprised.

Oh, and I think my next gun purchase is going to be a Sig P229R and a longer barrel. Too many guns, not enough time.

Also if you take your ACOG in a dark room and look through it at the 2:00 position you will see the green glow of the tritium:cool:
