Ya, it is a sickness. You need therepy.

Here is a pic of a current restoration 'before and after' pic.

I started out with a cut down 1893 Mk.II Lee Metford. When I was finished I had a full spec, correct maker marked and govt acceptance stamped Long Tom.

The only parts that were used from the original Bubba were the reciever, trigger, trigger guard, bolt, rear volley sight, rear site and buttplate. For the amount of time and money that I spent, I could have bought a complete original one. But then again, the experience and knowledge I gained is of value too.

The way that I see it, this is my hobby, it will cost me a few bucks. The reward is not calculated in dollars.

By the way gents, all I need to complete this one is a sight slider. Anybody have one spare? Huh? Huh?

Did I sell you that one  looks slightly familiar

then why in the hell am I having such a hard time finding one that ain't shot out, or going for a left testicle?!

that all depends how much you value your left testicle...

The No1 CLLE I sold some time ago went for $1200...

Is that a testicle?...I dont know.

But when ya get into these pre-WW1 enfields yer talkin rare, eh?

In several places they mention forearm...is this not one of the wood pieces?

Read it again. I don't see "forearm" listed even once, let alone in "several places". All I see is a front handguard, but it's the only piece listed WITHOUT an item number, which would suggest there are none.

Please copy and paste the item and it's price so I can see what I'm missing.

I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything, I'm interested in a set of P14 wood as well, I just don't see any for sale on that website.

Hmmm sorry about that I misread it.
Man where are we going to find wood for our P-14s?

No, I bought this Bubba'd MLE about twenty years ago at Canadian Tire in North Bay. Their sporting goods department used to take trade ins on new hunting rifles. The couple of weeks leading up to hunting season were good for bargains on used rifles at clearance prices.

Asking price was $65, so I haggled and got it for $55 with a box of ammo thrown in.

The store only sells air rifles and paintball guns and some ammo now, I believe.
