After I got my license I was going to get a glock simply because its a name you hear and I didn't know any different. As it turned out After a bit of research I bought a shadow and fell in love with it. I was so glad I had made that choice, I had become almost anti glock lol .Now more time has passed And the polymer voice had returned so I finally bought a glock and I can honestly say I like them both. They are very different but appeal in different ways.

I sold my 26 & now a lil pissy about it
I wanted a 26 at first, because I hate the .40 cartridge. When Questar had their sale on the Glocks, I rushed home to order mine and all the GEN4 26's were sold out. So I ended up getting the last 27. I now have a lonewolf 40-9 conversion barrel and I can run 9mm out of it.
The best part was the price $825 + tax for a brand new gen4 G27 at questar.
Just because the ridiculous markup guys on the EE ask for the 26/27 I will never sell mine.

There are no accidental discharges they are all negligent discharges. Not the object's fault but the operator's.
Beretta 92's are good until the frames crack +/or locking block's fail. Other than that, yeah, they are pretty good.
I'd still take a Glock over a Beretta any day of the week for a duty/carry/SHTF pistol, though.

I recently got a G23 [converted to restricted] in a private deal for a smokin' price. Going to add a 40 to 9 conversion barrel to it at some point.
Reason I went with G23 over G27 was first obviously the price point in the private sale. But I had shot & carried a G27 in prohib trim extensively in the past. Just never liked how the G27 torqued in my hand when firing it a lot. The G23 is much more comfortable to shoot & not much larger dimensionally,

the reason for becoming a fan is because mine wasnt reliable at first but parts are so easily bought and inexpensive. the non reliable gen 4 spring broke in after a few hundred rounds where all it took was just to rack it and shoot some more. the broken ejector was a mag problem but after realizing that all i had to do is rack it and it kept shooting. now it has a 3.1 pound trigger and a few upgrades that just make it shoot like a dream with very inexpensive parts. so ya i just cant get over how it will keep firing and even with issues all you have to do is tap rack and squeeze, it just wants to shoot. its at 2500 rounds now and it keeps getting better and better.
Do some research and you'll see that they have a bit of a bad rap these days based on the fact that after a couple decades of hard field use and being handed down to soldier after soldier they're showing signs of wear, tear and abuse. Nothing wrong with the pistol, just 30 years of use showing up.

Like the RCMP standard issue sidearm and it's half inch long 15lb pull? Lol. Taking my time I can hit head shots at 20 yards all day long with one, but anything hurried (like 99% of shootings are) and it's damn near spray and pray. Crazy what some agencies give their members to keep them safe.
The 5946 is nice & heavy. It is good to keep spare paper targets from blowing off the shooting benches when at the range, too.

Beretta won the US Army contract on dirty backroom deals and because they would setup a US manufacturing plant. The SIG pistol clearly won the trials(if you wish to do the reading) but was disqualified because they refused to setup shop in the US. Beretta's are overly complex, heavy, large, garbage controls, and have a short service life. As for What Mr. Langdon uses/used. I don't really care, he's a competitive shooter who shoots for a living and a sample size of one. Beretta is considered a non contender in the MIL/LE contract market now, and very few are seen either in competition or professionally outside the US Army. Keep in mind that Beretta is one of the oldest firearms makers out there, and they no longer hold a commanding portion of any market.
Traditional double action guns are dumb. Traditional double action guns with slide mounted safeties/decockers are even more dumb. Long crappy trigger pull, with an exposed trigger bar, exposed barrel, milled front sight(on some models), slides that separate, frames that crack in half, and a three piece locking block that is to be replaced every 6000 rounds. Not exactly great attributes, but feel free to spend your money on one..
