I think I want a revolver...

What no cowboys around here!

Big or small, I like 'em all :D

When I first started shooting I thought revolvers would be awkward to hold and not comfortable at all. Then I tried one and it was like the clouds opened up and a beam of my own personal sunshine warmed my soul. Between my double action S&W's and single action cowboy guns in both cartridge and cap&ball black powder gun I've easily got more revolvers than I do semis.

For casual range fun a SA style can't be beat. The re-loading drill slows things down just enough to stretch out the fun while not becoming too much like work. Especialy if you are shooting bigger fun rounds such as magnums.

i've got an older taurus 689 which i dont think they make anymore, it looks a lot like a colt python with the under lug and ribbed barrel, and i've shot everything else from smiths to colts to rugers and i really dont feel you can go wrong with a revolver

Top one kinda looks like the one Clint used in Pale Rider.

Wow - fantastic pictures guys - thanks for getting me addicted in about 5 seconds.

I've already decided that I need both a GP100 4.2" in SS and a Colt Python 6" in SS. My wife is not going to be happy that another $2k of guns is suddenly on the "these never come up in the EE and were a great price, so I had to get them now" list. :D

I'll have to shoot a cowboy gun someday - they look like fun too!

Good eye! Watching how he swapped out the cylinders was what made me go looking for the Remington clones as my first black powder guns. Mind you in Pale Rider they used a cartridge conversion cylinder. But be it a cartridge conversion or pre-loaded cap and ball cylinders they swap just like Clint showed. I just wish I was able to do it so smoothly while wearing a scowl on my face.... :D

Heres the one used in the film.
