Not sure how true is this, but is CSSA is posting it on their FB Offcial Page, then we are all in big trouble.
TEAM CSSA SPECIAL REPORT - October 24, 2015

THE RCMP TEST THE WATERS ON THE FIRST NEW ROUND OF FIREARM PROHIBITIONS.

October 24, 2015 – As reported by CSSA in the last several months, the RCMP has been eager to impose new prohibitions on semi-automatic rifles at the earliest opportunity.

Little known to most firearm owners, an unsuccessful attempt was made by the RCMP’s Canadian Firearms Program to prohibit the common-as-dirt SKS rifle, a non-restricted firearm imported into Canada by the hundreds of thousands over the last 40 years. Its solid reliability, inexpensive ammo and very reasonable price have made it a stalwart in a large portion of Canadian gun safes. Every year, thousands of game animals are humanely harvested and millions of rounds of ammunition are sent downrange by this humble firearm.

Yet one broken gun sold by a large retail store sparked an all-out pogrom against the ubiquitous rifle by the RCMP. Some adroit stick handling prevented this from achieving fruition and while the tale is not well known by consumers, it is common knowledge in the firearm industry. As is often the case, lobbying is a prophylactic exercise where success is measured by what doesn't happen.

The story below – reported by the CBC – is the opening salvo in an attempt by the RCMP’s Firearms Program to ban the following firearms: the SKS, the Ruger Mini-14/Mini-30, the Tavor TAR 21, the CZ-858 and the Norinco M-305 rifles.

Do not ignore this message and do not be fooled by political rhetoric. THIS IS REAL, and the storm is only beginning.

That question has been asked a few times here, the consensus seems to be: #1 Corwin Arms #2 Weimajack #3 Westrifle #4 Any place, they are all the same.
I really like my Weimajack SKS in comparision to my Any place SKS' but I haven't bought from Corwin Arms or Westrifle yet.

I am the first here, so it is my civic duty to tell you...
Go fast & buy 2 SKS or your Dyk will fall Off.
Then go back again & buy 2 M305, because again your ...
Finally, If you have some money left, go buy ammo for the suckers, buy the crate not by the box, if you really want your ... not to fall Off.
;)

Yup that's my plan too I may buy 2 or 3 yet ! And I don't even like them, its just the principle ! Old Justin, the Obama of the North, he will be good for gun and ammo sales. Speaking of which I need more ammo. lol

Strange times indeed.....

I was in CT looking at rifles, and a guy and girl in their 40s picked up a SKS and a crate of ammo. Struck up a conversion and he said he had earlier just picked 3 other SKSs and 3 crates.....

I would say all the RCMP will do is force a bunch of guns underground, as opposed to just focusing on the real problem, and that is illegal guns in the hands of unlicensed criminals. No amount of gun control will force criminals to stop smuggling in guns.

If anything the RCMP pushing law abiding citizens to become criminals by short sighted ineffective gun grabs, will ultimately just make things worse.

Everyone really can get along, you RCMP guys who love reading our posts get it......

All the Liberals and RCMP will do is create a bigger problem and actually increase the number of underground prohibited guns hidden in Canada.

Funny thing is my Dad who grew up in Nazi Germany said this dark times would come.

Oh well off to CT to buy some non car items, wink wink!

On Monday, I owned 4 SKS's, this morning I sold my last one. I have none left, just have my bolt action hunting rifle and 410 single shot left.

Buy a crappy shooter from Canadian tire or a bulk rifle sponsor. And than biy a second one as collector from the above mentioned. I have two, one collector, one shooter. I plan on doubling that asap

Too many SKS's in public ownership. Likely outcome... new LGR and no new imports of the identified "baby eaters from the combloc. I can see the RCMP restrict all surplus and military-like semi-auto firearms that chamber the 7.62x39 round. Grab while the grabbing is good... rifles and ammo.

Well I like my new to me Tula 50s classic. :)

Made the mistake the last time the Liberals did this and sold my AK and pocket autos. Cost me a Prohib RPAL!!!

Meh too many Canadians own SKS rifles now, Banning or restricting them would piss off too many voters... plus if the liberals did, you can be assured the Conservatives would correct it once they got in power again.

Bulls eye london have really nice refurb SKS right now, their super grade ones are mint. They're pinned on the follower arm, not frankenpinned which is a plus.

I 'll become a criminal before I give up anything. We already have restrictions that are more than ludicrous. We must be one entity, I'm in for the fight.:ar15:

Uhh ya ya. Me too! All of mine are gone just like this guys. ;)

I know this is a public site and anyone including the RCMP can read it. I still have faith that the SKS' will not be banned. There's just so many of them around Canada and there's very few of them involved in crimes.

Comparatively, ask any range how many of them they see shot in a day and you'll see the SKS really kinda helps this exonomy in its own small way.

I just ran around few gun shops over the past couple of days here in Vancouver, anyone looking for an SKS, call Reliable(site sponsor) or Italian Sporting Goods. They've got some on racks. There are some in Can. Tire in Vancouver ( Bentall St.)
