So all of a sudden my wife had taken an interest in my guns...last week she wants me to teach her to drive a stick shift...IN MY 911! This week she wants to shoot one of my AR's. She is too small to to shoulder a sporter so I'm thinking of getting her into one of my M-4's. Does anyone have any experience teaching short people to shoot..She is 5'3"?

My wife is 5'1" and shoot nicely with my AR-15 16" (stag-15 2L). Before to know me, she has never touch any gun, now she is Rambogirl. She will buy her first gun soon, a CX4 Storm, and I think that's a good rifle for dwarf girl ;)
I don't think you will have any difficulties to teach AR shooting to your wife.
 
well my wife is 5' even and her shottie has a custom fitted buttstock and she doesnt have any problems with it but if she goes to use one of my rifles they are quite a bit longer and because she is really stretched to fit in them felt recoil is considerably greater
 
Part of teaching someone to shoot would include fitting the firearm to their body/hand size. Height doesn't affect a persons ability to learn a new skill.

With an adjustable lop stock, an a2 pistol grip and a short skinny bbl she'd be gtg.

Don't worry, this is a good thing. More money will be spent, but you won't have to hide or excuse anything anymore :D. Definately go with a carbine length rifle and adjustable stock.

Na, my wife shoots (but doesn't hunt) and it is great because she understands that disease (you know the one, I just need 1 more gun)
 
My wife has also laid claim to my AR, and my 1911. (She shoots the .45 better than I do.) But she no longer complains about me loading in the house, which is the "upside" - I guess.

Cute and endearing your wife...shooting your AR, so long as it's downrange, what could go wrong. On the other hand, driving manual for the first time in your 911.......hmmm....yeah about that....
 
My wife joined me in our 3 gun matches (she used to shoot before we had kids). It all started out with our/ my Springfield Armory 1911 9mm. She liked it so much that she took it and told me to buy another NP29.

Then she took my Win M70 StealthII in .308 and then I bought her a Super Sniper in 16X (she really prefered my Leupold LR/T 6.5x20x50mm Mildot). After she tried my SERPA holster for the 1911 9mm, she claimed that too, so I had to buy another. Little does she know that they (SERPA holsters) come in other colours than OD Green. heh heh heh....

Before she takes my 14.5" flatop upper carbine for the Tac Carbine match this fall, I'm gonna build her a lower reciever with a 6 position adjustable stock. That way, my 20" Hbar Service Rifle rig will stay with me. yuk yuk yuk

So are you really screwed? ONLY if you get divorced...... Not an option for me. I'm tooo FUGLY to have an affair. Too old to deploy to Askrakistan, and too fat to fly. LOL
 
Screwed?? :eek: I think you're a really lucky man! I wish my wife would show an interest...........:(

Better start saving for a bigger gun safe. :cool:
