I mostly hunt with my son, who is now 16. Each year we do a hunt with a couple of guys, the group seems to be losing interest a bit, one fellow is planning a move back to NFLD. It's hard to find folks who are compatible, and like to hunt in similar ways. Definitely punt this group and find a Gunnut from MB, there are several on this sight.
I think it's time for new hunting buddies, I have had it!!

The part that bugs me the most is they went out and changed everything without letting you know!! WTF!! :shock:

I have to ask,,, What's a 'Camp Boss'
We had a similar problem, one guy from the original gang came back and brought his son. During the week we started getting complaints that he had a flask in the bush, we talked to him and he assured us he was gonna put it away (he hunted with the gang for 15 years at the beginning and was given another chance). The next year he again had the flask and his son was found walking into the bush and sitting on stand with the 30-30 cocked and would only unload the chamber when 3 or 4 guys were around him, I guess he thought if only one gets shot no biggy. So they were not asked back the next year, but showed up at the end of the week anyway, not wanting to stir up anything my father and second cousin (camp owners) went over the rules again and had a safety talk/course with his son. Not two days in he proceeds to swing the gun while unloading the lever past all the guys. They have been booted from our camp.
The only reason we gave them a few chances was due to the fact that the father was one of the original members who had never done anything wrong before. His son on the other hand is a little bit nuts, I would never ever hunt with anyone like that.
The biggest thing is to talk as a group, if there is a camp boss (takes care of the operations of the camp throughout the years, sets up the week for the rest of the guys, owns the property) then speak as a group with them about the individual. There are always little issues inside a hunting group as personalities can conflict but anything that involves the safety and well being of the members should not be tolerated.

CBW your not looking for new hunting partners , THEY are , you seem to have a good 1 already and I am sure your daughter will grow up being an exelent hunter and marksman/woman
That's real BS! What's worse is these are your buddies...The fact they didn't have the respect for you is bad enough... What's worse is they didn't care that your daughter was also there. . DITCH THEM! It's to bad your not in Ontario we are always looking for a couple of extra good guys to hunt with us. Take care.

I used to hunt with a guy. A "freeloader" basically, he did not have a 4x4 and always depended on me or one of the other guys to haul all his gear.
The last year we hunted together, I had enough of it, so prior to our hunting trip I told the guy to rent or borrow a 4x4.
But that ####er showed up instead with a borrowed trailer. And it was never intended to go out in the Alberta clay; the fenders had about 2" of clearance.
So I had to completely unload my whole truck in order to load this ass-clowns ####. My end gate of my truck got totally bent because it had to left hanging open. It's never worked right since.
At the end of our moose hunt that year, I ended up getting my truck stuck the last night of our trip. Another buddy had gotten his truck stuck on the logging road and he walked into our camp looking for help. After I pulled him out and returned to park my old Chevy, I tried to back into the road approach and dropped the right side of the truck off the edge. Well ####!!
So I get back to camp and tell the ass-clown and he loses it on me for being so stupid. I thought, "Yea and if you jhad that 4x4 here it wouldn't be a problem now wounldn't it!" I was simmering mad, but said nothing.
I spent all of the next morning cutting wood and jacking up the truck to get it out. He finally arrived with all his stuff and we headed home. On the drive the clay wadded up so bad between the tires and fenders of that ####ing trailer, that the wheels just skidded. I don't think they turned but 4 times each in 5 miles and my old Chevy spinning all 4 wheels to pull that prick!
We finally reached good roads and I was pissed off. I got a beer out of the cooler and was leaning against the truck drinking it and this guy goes to the ditch and gets a stick. He starts prying the mud from between the tires and fenders, he looks at me after a minute and then says, "Well don't grab a stick and help or anything!!"
I just thought, "#### you, you ####ing cheap cocksuc... !!"Etc...
And right there I knew I'd never hunt with him again. I waited a week before calling him to tell him. But that's what I did. I only regret that I didn't know enough to do it sooner!

I did have a little chat with one and got alot off my cheast It felt good to get off and have someone say your right and things have too change, and now that I will never hunt with one of them every again, the other has come around to my way of thinking . So if they is anyone who want's to hunt with to two guys in thier late fortys and and hunt hard and go bow and muzzel. I would like to hear from you, I have hunted alone but only in certin areas. I am not really to do that because of my heart crap. But when I think about it, I would rather drop dead out there, than at @#%%^ing work :lol:
Man Gatehouse, I have read many of your posts, and again you hit the neal on the head again! You just covered both hunting groups that I know into one, I hate tagg fillers, just bring someone with a tag sort of thing, that's why I stop hunting for years. I got to pay for my tagg and push bush and drive my truck and move people around and chase deer, hear the gun shots and see nothing, and listen to the old guys talk about the kills, and if I was lucky I would get a couple of chops,lol. So I stopped hunting, Then I meet up with a couple of guys that said that they don't hunt like that at all. It's all sit and wait, and we all share the work load. I am thinking ok that's different, maybe I will try it, so after two years of bugging I go and hooked again, it's great hunting. Then it all went down the crapper, because they got too out of line, oh by the way, my best bud who is going to be 50 next year has just start hunting two years ago with because of all the good things in the past trips, he too now has a bad taste in his mouth about this guys
