I think it's time for new hunting buddies, I have had it!!

True, but by day three she couldn't set still, lol. She was bored big time, because of no action anywhere, she wanted to help gut anyone's deer, lol. but it went down the tubes on that one. But some other friends have pulled through for me and I might have a spot for the last little bit of m/l season for her to get her chance.

Dam, got the guy again, putting vodka in a pepsi bottle, Busted, dam #######. So now we are on the way back and of day two of the opening, and it's a nasty storm out, 40 km all the way back to wpg, and it took 4 and 1/2 hours to get back. This fuc& up at 7:00 am is sucking back vodka out of the bottle, while me and my friend load the trucks from the motel that we stayed in, We didn't know until till the snow plow wipped out in front of us and a couple other trucks, and this goof opens his cooler in the back of our truck and takes a drink!!!! 3/4 gone, It had a lable on the top at 7:00 am, this about 10:30 am, buy time we get back to wpg, this clown is toast!! We through his gear in his truck and tell him to get towed home!!! Please anyone hunting by Spurce Woods or in, be careful, there is two of these clowns out there, I and my friend will never go back there again. Never give someone a secound chance when it comes to this ####, Next #### head I come across like this, I am gonna tell him to take a nap in the hamik, and put a hide over him and duck tape some horns on him, and leave!!!!

Too bad about you're daughters experience. I think most of us can relate to some or all of it.
My partners this year informed me on the way that they had budgeted 10 beer per day! This I find out did not include the 5 - 26 ers and 4 mickey's of assorted hard stuff...#### faced daily was the outcome.. I've already replaced them as hunting partners..I could elaborate more on the story but it pisses me off so bad I prefer to forget it. Hard to turn around and go home when you are 1200 km's away on a 14 day hunt but had I known I never would have gone in the first place.

Had the same problem at my camp this year. Being hunting with brother in law and a friend for 5 years. Last year they started to drink from the time they get back to camp till they they get hammered (about 8:00PM). This year brother in law had a drink during lunch and took some new guys out to hunt afterwards. I give him sh** and that didn't sit well with him. He kept on drinking till late evening. I told him he was drunk and he blew a gasket. He packed up immediately and drove home to prove that he wasn't drunk. Had to call my sister next day to make sure he got home safely and explain to her what happen. Brother in law told her about being called drunk but not the part about drinking and hunting.

He is out of my huntcamp. New rules for the camp.. only one case of 12 pack beer per person for the week. Also I have some new members coming that are not drinkers.

i see nothing wrong with having some beers or drinks once the guns are put away.if someone told me i'm only allowed 12 beers or a mickey for a week+ of hunting i'd tell them to go pluck their selves.

I would find out what has changed, and why, ever ask these guys what was up. And that you were more than ever wanting a pleasent experience for your daughter. In hind sight, but not too late to find out whats up. For sure you must have great memories of time spent with those folks on the hunt.

Talk to many other people who's camp had split up because some member are heavy drinkers who get into silly arguments. I always tell new hunters to my camp that there is a limit on alcohol that can be brought in just to see what the reaction is, even though we don't have such a rule. Is he there to get drunk or a responsible drinker there to have a good time.

It seems like to me that there are way too many people that think a hunting trip should be a piss-up. If you want to have a drink or three at night around the campfire then thats fine but don't go running around the bush with a
40-pounder and a 30-06. If you do stupid crap like that then the odds of your next deer wearing a plaid shirt and boots is greatly increased.

But thats just my opinion

that sum,s it up for me

Hey Bud, don't worry about venting. Especially about something like this.
I think it's very cool that you involve your daughter in the outdoors, hunting & the camping adventure & skills that go along with.
The fact that the anticipation, planning, purchasing...all the preliminary tasks (some fun, some expensive) are wasted by other inconsideration is hard to take.
Similar drinking "pals" of mine have ruined my interest in car shows lately as well.
Well, I can see myself stepping up on my soap box, when I should be heading out the door for the last day of the season.
Hang in there. Luckily us Canucks have plenty of territory to escape the dorks & find new favorite spots!
Good luck!
