I think the price of M1 Garands is about to drop.

A local gun store was saying that one of his suppliers offered him a crate of grands....not sure if it is true or not , but supposedly they have a container of them. Was asking if I was interested . Told him not really at the price right now. No he didn't tell me the price, but I assumed they are at the ee price range.

Tell him at 500$ they'd sell in one day or less. PS, PM me first and I'll take 2 ;)

I read this article today where Obama is now blocking the importation of M1 Garands and M1 30 carbine back into the USA. This will surely translate to a reduced market for these rifles and allow more of these rifles to find their way into Canada at a lower price.

Maybe we will see Garands for $299 again soon.

I suspect we will begin to see them for sale at the usual Canadian milsurp dealers soon enough.

Put 3 fired cases in your clip. In the bottom. Or dummy rounds with no primer or powder.

The Alberta regs state the magazine cannot hold more than 5 rounds, regardless of what you load it with. Putting 3 dummies in an 8 round clip is still using an 8 round clip and can get you arrested. 5 round clips can be made or bought and are the only legal way to hunt with a Garand in Alberta.

In Alberta a semi auto centrefire is limited to 5 for HUNTING. Regardless of the Garand is specifically allowed to hold 8 in the CCC. The hunting regs may be different. Check first.

crashcollins is in Ontario, they have no limit for semi's for big game hunting.

Since I was at canadian tire in Leduc today ( buying m14 magazines and 308 ammo) I asked about this. The employee said there is NO chance CT is getting Garands. But they are expecting 338 and 50 cal ammo next week.
Fwiw nobody did more than glance at my pal. Oh and the mags were 39$

You could glue them in...

The follower comes up through the clip, it wouldn't work if you fixed the dummy rounds to the clip body. It is possible to solder or braze a nut or other stop into the clip to hold only 5 rounds, but is far more work than simply buying 5 round clips for maybe $5 each.

"...Maybe we will see Garands for $299..." Too expensive. Think $175 like I paid. Well hallucinate about it. They ain't coming here.
