I tried something crazy today

And it worked! Since I was in the mood to shoot and not at all in the mood to make ammo, I made a comprimise. I fired 50 rounds yesterday and had the brass in my bag so I decided that I would just pop the primers, reprime and load. No cleaning, no neck sizing, no nothing. And guess what? A second round hit again at 1200m. I hit it 4 more times out of 5 shots. Then i let Chrisward3 have a go with my rifle. He hit it 4 out of 5 times. Then i got bored...clearly this 15x15 tgt is too big. I took the sled down to the tgt and put a 2L pop bottle on it. Fired one shot and it went right through the middle of it. Simply amazing for ammunition you likely wouldn't even have thought would hold together on the ride over in the trunk of my car. The moral of this story? Shoot your effin rifles...don't worry if you have a thou or 2 of runout or if your neck tension isn't perfect. If you have some skill and good gear you should be able to nail that gong regardless.

Guess it helps when you do this for a livin' too eh ;)

What are you shooting btw - curious minds want to know.

Nice Work Swissinn!

Sean built me a pretty sweet 260 that shoots beyond my capability.

PS perhaps next time use something a bit more manly for the 2L target. Perhaps some sort of "berry cooler" at least LOL.

Great shootin'

Here you go! Manly target! Drink what's left the rest is Beersicles from the snow! The Frenchys do it with maple syrup we do it with beer eh! Lol!;-)

Haha I didn't want this to turn into a "look how good I can shoot" thread. I just want people to realize that you don't need to be an OCD psychopath lunatic with your ammo in order to hit long range targets! I'm not saying im going to load like this all the time but its nice to know I can.

Great shooting. When I first started shooting and hand loading, my set up was very simple. Just an old Pacific "C" press and dies in 308win, I primed right on the press, used the Lee dipper system (no scale) and seated bullets until they fit the mag. I did not clean the brass or primer pockets, deburr the flash hole, trim to length, sort brass, neck size only, have digital callipers, no micrometer seating die,,,blah blah blah. Just sized, primed, drop a powder charge and seated a bullet. Still got sub MOA from a Tikka M595 hunting rifle with Nosler Partitions. Now I do all that other crap and more, have much fancier rifles, and have a hard time hitting the floor if I fell on it!

You just proved the KISS principal, thanks for making me realize I will NEVER get all those long hours of my life back again!

Yes the french Canadian Mexican makes some fine rifles. Got a couple of them myself.

Swissin you just don't like reloading cause you got big hands;-) You need you some good ole fashioned child labour them little hands can clean the primer pockets squeaky clean! They complain well you just withhold water;-) joking people joking info not condone child labour unless thier your own lol! Small hands make quick work!

Ok wait a moment... you mean you don't need to be an OCD lunatic to get 1/2 moa way out there? Thats it I am quitting reloading. Its not the shooting I like its the OCD ridiculous reloading!
