i waited 4 long years for a T97

If Can Am was to bring a Type 97 that had a rational mag release and a selector switch above the pistol grip like the improved type 95 also some kind of quality control so the rifle has the ability to actually use stanag mags rather than driving the bullets into the case that has been known to happen and also does not have over drilled barrels Can Am will have a winner rifle unlike their compitation...

Or Can Am could get norinco to bring in Type 97 in 5.45 x 39 that take AK 74 mags and cheap 5.45 x39

Story about the seized container? It was seized by the CBSA back in 2009/2010 right after RCMP decided to reclassified the T-97, since there is a military technology embargo against China, Canada Ammo can't just put it back on the ship and send it back to China, that shipment sat at the CBSA warehouse while the Canada Ammo launched court challenge on the reclassification, in 2012 a judge ruled against Canada Ammo, so unless the CBSA has since destroyed all the rifles than they are still sitting there in the warehouse.

So if you add up the cost of the rifles and the cost of legal challenges, If I was Canada Ammo I would just walk away and never want to heard another mention of it.

Damn that is fcuked up... I had no idea BS like this could happen..

Last I heard was the new model prototype of the T97 NRR had been sent back to the factory for some design, quality issues??? My T97 NSR still has some feeding problems by pushing the bullet back into the case about 2-3 times out of a 100 rds. Not having a manual bolt holdback lock can make it awkward as some mags like the .50 bewolf don't fall free from the gun. I hope the feeding and bolt lock back are fixed with the new model T97 NRR??

Yeah did can am not say it had a prototype go back to factory months ago?

In the last few days, I was thinking about my preorder for the t97, thanks for resurrecting the thread!

I would really like to know what´s happening with this rifle, because even though the initial hype is gone, I still want one, and I'm tired of asking myself if it will come or not and if I should wait for it or buy something else.

I know I will never buy a NSR again, but I'm still in for the NRR, if it ever happens.

Please Canam say something, people would prefer a "don't hope for it within the next year or two" than no comment at all, or the false hope of a "ETA 2014" !

could not of said it better...

screw the hype i still want one. some of us are still in university and cant afford crazy expensive rifles. t97 may not be the best, but its likely the best value!

anyone have any updates. i haven't heard anything. and i'm refraining from just about all other firearms purchases since i don't know the the $850 hammer will fall, crushing my credit rating into a fine powder.

Your credit rating will stay intact if you pay your credit card just saying ;)

As per best value time will tell, but again if I where them I'd probably just offer a deal to those on the T97 preorder on a newly imported firearms say a T81.

It's a shame because I would totally buy the new outlaw ammo deal they have I had a better time frame for when they would be taking my T97 money.

Easier said then done lol. And I need more info in the t81. Seems like a winner (another non-ak AK, but cheaper!)

Yes, CanadaAmmo please .... SITREP? .....let us know..... I am also still on the pre-order list, but I can't wait forever....

I tested a new prototype this summer. suggested more changes, plant visit planned this fall for a thorough discussion with engineers.

As I have said many times, I has little interest in this rifle as it is. I will only sell it once it has the changes I want.

So a realistic new ETA is mid 2015? Can you give us any hints as to what changes we are still looking at????

So glad Canada Ammo is still on this. My preorder stays. But I want the new version sooner. the nsr crap just wont do it.

.

Thanks
all we needed was some sort of update to know that there was still some sort of progress on the file. I was holding off on some purchases but now I know its still going to be a while I am going ahead with them.

even a rough estimate ETA would allow me more financial freedom to bu more guns/ammo/accessories...... xmas time, spring 2015, summer 2015, a retirement toy?
all kidding aside i wish more manufacturers would hold of on promised sales dates for an ultimately better product. it is the main reason i will be keeping my preorder.

That is why we no longer discuss ETA here

as a consumer I agree. current offering is not up to par. look forward to the day when the rifle is ergonomic and works out of the box.

but 5.45x39 would be the cats ass as well as all that surplus 5.45x39 that can't be imported into the usa anymore.
