Thus you need to get in touch with someone who has manufacturing license, document what modifications you want on the barrel, and agree with the manufacturer what barrel you want manufacturer to manufacture for you. At this point you will know if the manufacturer wants your existing barrel as one of the consumables for the re-manufacturing, or if they can make you a new barrel from scratch.

You do not need a manufacturing license to make gun PARTS, only to manufacture frames/receivers, so anyone can make a new barrel.

You cannot use the original barrel to go below legal limits, it CANNOT be re-manufactured. If you want to go below legal limits you must start with a new barrel blank.

so if i got a new barrel put in it would be fine but i cant chop the one thats in there would i have to change the size of the gas ports for the 858 to work?
