I wanna hunt some wolves and yotes in b.c. this winter

so, as the title says, I'm interested in hunting some predator populations this winter and have never really done it before. I've shot a few coyotes when they have lingered in my sights too long but never purposefully set out to target them.

Any b.c. hunters wanna "learn" me on what's involved...... maybe some areas that need some attention to help out wintering moose and deer populations?
I'm in langley, b.c ....... but anywhere within 5 /6 hours will do the trick. Wolves would be my first choice but yotes will do as well.
 
You can do a couple of things

FInd wolf sign and predator call or howl for them

FInd sign and put out bait for them, then come back after they have hit it and hide in ambush

Combo of the 2

Wolves arent' real easy to hunt, but it's more fun than sitting on the couch in the winter.
 
Wolf you'd need to drive a good 10 hours in my opinion to get into decent territory, ideally in the Peace, and they're very hard to hunt. Talked to two guides about wolf hunts, in far north BC and the territories, neither hunted wolves expressly. They'd book you a hunt for something else, and if you came across a wolf, bag it. Like you, I pictured heading out for a few days by myself to get a wolf, but after talking to the guides, they painted a picture of more like two weeks, and odds are you'd come back empty handed if you were after only wolf. One of those animals you happen upon if you're already out there typically, some hunt them on trap lines, but it's nothing like coyote hunting.
 
I've got a hunch the Pemberton wolves have become a bit--I won't say tamed, but a bit used to people. When they can find food that people are responsible for, they quickly abondon their traditional way of hunting. If I was you I would sure contact Gate and get further advice, because that type of wolf is much easier to hunt than their wild brothers.
Ardent, you sure heard it right regarding the true, wild wolf. They are the most un-routine, of probably any animal in the bush. Wolves cover a lot of country, coming back to anyone general area, maybe every ten days or two weeks. When they kill a moose they will keep coming back to the kill until it is all gone, bones and all. One time they may come back to the kill at midnight and the next time they may decide to eat at 1:00 in the afternoon. But if humans ever scare them from their kill, they likely won't come back to it again.
Just as you were told, if you are in the bush a lot, you will likely see them---sometime, someplace.
