What are my options? I really like 10/22 platform but open the others.
I just realize that I'm not a bolt action guy. I owned a 17M2 and I own now a Savage 17hmr, and I REALLY like both calibers but I just want an accurate semi-auto.

Talk about your experiences.

Thanks

+1 on that idea

10/22 ---> 10/17HM-2

I'm currently trying a bolt-action 17 HM-2 that replaced the 17 HMR I sold :rolleyes: recently. Seems to be working really well!

The semi-auto 17 HM-2 idea would certainly be a cool project!!!

Good luck! SD

O.K. but anyone know where I can have a barrel and a conversion kit for the Ruger? It seem really hard to found in Canada.

*By the way superd222, the rifle you sold to me is amazing!! Accurate, reliable and really eyes catching with my Mueller 8-25 x 44!! I just need faster action when I shoot:50cal::D

Check short thread shown above.

I wanted a semi .17 too. Choices are limited, problems are many. I've had a Magnum Reseach .17 semi on order for 5 months now and it is still not in. If I had wanted the stainless barrel I could have had it immediately but I want the carbon fibre barrel. M. R. is just now shipping them to backorders in the USA. No idea when they will be coming to Canada (me).

Maybe my dealer isn't trying hard enough, maybe someone else in Canada has the Magnum Research semi with carbon fibre barrel in stock. If so, please let me know. But as it stands now I am seriously thinking I made a poor choice and I need to be looking at the bolt actions instead.

Good Luck on your quest.

I bought a Marlin 717M2 from Frontier Taxidermy last late winter and I could not be happier with this great little gun.The gun is topped with a Simmons 3x9x32 22Magnum scope.At 50 yards I can easily do 1/4 -3/8 groups no problem and 1" @ 100 yards easil on a bad day (no S%#T )
Have not had a missfire as yet.The only problem is,I`m not sure if the gun is still available......and that would be too bad.

I bought the New England Arms Sportster in .17 Mach 2. Its single shot but I love it. Quick to reload and dirt cheap. Its a tad heavy to lug around but my bicips are looking awesome:) I have a 10x50 varmint scope on it and it kicks butt. All for under $250.oo.

Excel arms make one in the states, I don't know what that would be like getting to canada though???
