i want a 200yd 1MOA rifle for $500 to $800

as the title says - i'd like to find an accurate 22LR rifle that'll do 1MOA groups at 200 yards, most likely shooting Lapua Center-X ammo (or SK Standard Plus as a minimum)

i don't care if it's a single-shot (no mag), but really i would prefer a mag. i have scopes, and a bag/rest, and other rifles that i use for 100yd stuff (Savage TRR). yeah, i kinda prefer a stock / grip angle like the TRR has, so pistol-ish or tactical style (my wrist doesn't like the 'normal' position)

suggestions?
 
Look for a used Remington Model 40X or any other OLD .22 Match rifle. The international rules changed and made a lot of these old guns ineligible. The young shooters aren't buying them, so IMHO they are just getting older and less appreciated.
 
You are talking about 1/2 inch @ 100 yds. If you can find a gun that does that for $800 or less please let use all know!

I have the savage btvs and I love it, however at 100+ yds wind plays a big factor. I would also have to guess you bench rest shoot at 200yds and a proper rest is a factor too.
$100 to someone who can shoot 1/2" moa free standing.
 
1moa? Doesn't mean it will do 1moa that it will retain that kind of accuracy at twice the distance.. At 200 yards all bets are off with a 22lr round. Wind alone will easily make you miss the entire target.

If you are intending on using inside, I would be very impressed if a 22lr could manage to retain an moa group up to 200 yards. Hell I'd be impressed to see a 22lr hit moa groups to begin with..

At under $1000, then forget it IMO.
 
1MOA at 200yd would be a 2-inch group. At least that's how I understand it.
 
Maybe in a tunnel or some closed off area where the elements won't affect the bullet's path?
Could be somewhat possible.
I'm thinking what that Clayne_B chap has accomplished.

Not so sure. External ballistics properties of the design of the .22 cartridge says no.
Think about it...with a bit of custom work a decent .22 can shoot near under dime size groups at 50yds...but will open to an inch at 100, so the group is opening at it travels.
A real good rifle might produce a repeatable 3" group at 200 (1.5MOA), but it isn't going to be a $500 gun.
And if there is ANY wind...kiss that goodbye.
 
hmm, ok, so if this won't easily happen with 22LR, what about other rimfire calibers, like 22 Magnum? or does it not matter much at 200yd anyways? i'd prefer it to be rimfire as opposed to centerfire (cuz then i could go 223 or 22-250) since that gives me more options as to when/where to shoot and i won't need to add more reloading crap to my already crowded station.

so, ok, if 2" @ 200yd won't happen, what's the best i can actually hope for with an $800 rifle and good SK / Lapua ammo? i'm already buying the SK and Lapua ammo anyways (well, 1 brick of each for now).
