I want a k31! what do I need to know?

Stock dates are when stock was turned. usually put away for at least a year to dry before being mated to a rifle.

Some walnut stocks and blanks were "found" after 1945 and then used up as the need arose.
Still true the the great majority after 1945 were beech instead of walnut but there are exceptions and of course refubs.
What year range is your Serial # in?

541 500 so 1935 I think

Refurbished in 1956.
Must have a nice barrel.

Do you have a number stamped into the butt stock near the sling cutout? A number from 1 to 10?

Like this:

It has a very nice bore but the stock is a bit rough near the butt the beavers didn't get to it but it could be better. The was no number there, What would those numbers mean?
