I want a Robinson Arms M96

I came close a few times to picking one up. I’ve got a lot of “out of print” guns so parts breakage is always a bit of a concern, but from what I’ve seen here the M96 is more prone to part breakage than the average gun.

I remember when these first hit the market that I really wanted one, until it was cleasr that the promised "bren kit" wasn't gonna be produced and then I totally lost interest.

Why can't I own just ONE bren style firearm? WHY?!

Well I found one (actually was a member here that contacted me after I started this thread). More than I was expecting but I guess it's my own fault for waiting so long to scratch this itch. Had a few other members reach out and offer theirs but the one I chose should be good for a start. If I can find one more I'll be set.

Hope to have it in hand when I get home from work, then I can start on the mods. Then I just need to find one more for building in a different configuration.

They are neat guns. I have owned 2 of them in the past. They worked well, and I liked them, but as others have mentioned if something breaks you are on your own. If another came around for a fair price I would snag it.

Rob arm is taking presale in the US, I emailed them to put me on the Canadian list lol,

emailed the main rob dealer in canada too but they aren't doing presales

Yeah, it arrived yesterday so of course I had to tear it completely apart to see what its all about. I'd read about problems people had with them, but I guess I had to find out for myself. This one is unfired, have to say it feels pretty nice. If only the belt fed configuration was a reality in my world.....

I've read too many books about SEALS in the 60's/70's. This was as close as I could ever get. It'll likely see very light use and then sit in the collection.

If you haven't already, you'll want to watch all of the Forgotten Weapons videos on the Stoners. You'll feel much more proud of your M96 after that, I guarantee it.

Regarding the above link:

The price it was last listed at was in the ballpark of every one that I talked to folks about, lower than most. Every person I talked to with one for sale basically told me they didn't care to sell, but if I offered enough they would consider. Most wouldn't name their selling price, just stated if I offered enough I could have it. Their gun, their rules. A couple never came back to respond after I asked what they wanted for it, a couple did name prices they'd entertain. I'd like to think I bumped into a couple really helpful members though, gave me some solid answers and some advice.

I paid higher than retail for mine, but I knew that going into it. I had a little pile burning a hole in my pocket and felt like going for it.

I will NOT be buying the M60e4 that's on the exchange though, that's waayyy too rich for my blood.

So how much you pay for yours?
