Hi all - the wife is buying me my first AR for my birthday. I was waiting for the 10.5" Norc cqa to come into my local gun store however when I looked it over i wasn't at all happy with the finish, it was pretty rough! I know some people say not to worry about the cosmetics but to me a quality finish is important.

So I'm now thinking upping the budget and going for the NEA or Core15, I think the NEA is my number one choice, does anyone know if there's any stock available in 10.5"?

Thanks in advance.

Have fun with it. Start with a lower, get a parts kit, start putting it all together how you want. Itll be cheaper in the long run.

Once you go black you never go back.

The Spikes is also mil spec, makes it easier to mod and upgrade using a wider more diverse selection of AR parts versus commercial spec.

All AR are mil spec. the only part that comes in commercial spec is the buffer tube, pretty much every stock manufacturer has stocks in either version.;)

I have a Core15 M4 rifle. I have shot 300 rounds through it so far...no problems so far.
It comes with lifetime warranty as well.
Wanstall is the Canadian dealer for Core15.

I'd save up and buy the STI Ar-15 Freedom Ventures carries, Ăt really is an excellent value or if a 16" barrel is too long for you, look into 9mm AR's, cheaper to shoot and very accurate.

Milspec. is a very specific term; many ARs and AR parts are not milspec., even if they are high quality. I think you mean that generally speaking, AR parts are pretty much compatible, with the exception of the two sizes of buffer tubes.

We have some 7.5's and 18's being dropped off at target Sports tomorrow. They dont do pre orders or pre sales. If you're there and they're on the shelves you can buy them there and then. next week they and TSE will have a little bit of everything being shipped.

SFRC has rifles there now and more coming filling their orders.

That would be a nice first AR. What you get for the price when you buy the NEA rifle is of far better value and quality than the others.

I'm guessing by the smirkin' face you know the answer...and I concure...

@OP...I'd probably buy an AR out of the EE if I were you...lots of stuff available (some at decent prices)...you can get alot of gun for the money.

Agreed.
There is always someone hurting for money who will sell way low. I noticed the best time is around fall when all the students go back to school. They need their party money.

To NEA.... The shooting edge is my local club, I'll give them a call and see if I can reserve a 10.5", assuming you're sending them some 10.5s??

Thanks.

TSE seems to get some random NEAs trickle in, and I keep passing on them since I have a pre order at SFRC... But 3 weeks of being told "next week" has irrited me for the last time and if I see a 14.5" in stock at TSE, they get my money. V:I:

A little truth goes a long way. I've been told the same thing. If someone just says, hay, your going to be waiting a few weeks, I'm fine with that. Don't lead me on. Ill still order from them, but if I was more impatient I'd probably not feel that way.
