regular old semi auto hunting rifle in 223, 22" or better barrel for the yotes, haven't found one yet, closest is beneli, don't want to spend that coin and want to mount a scope. Any ideas?

BAR.........Browning Auto Rifle.

Go through the site sponsors above.
There should be one around if not gander the EE.
My memory is telling me there is one out there........where........chit.

really didn't want an AR, really did want something like the bar, mount a scope call it good. I know there are other good coyote caliber choices, but I like the bulk ammo price of 223, I have 2 sks, and one 858, but don't really want to mount scopes on them. Just wanted a plain old 223 semi hunting rig. I will state that there are none and the closest is the benelli. All kinds of semi 22, why not 223, someone is missing a good boat ride.

Ok I was thinking $1K or so scoped,, how about any other smaller calibers in a hunting platform with cheap bulk ammo available???

heard mixed reviews on both mini and benelli, and both are more than I wanted to spend.

New Mini-14's are as accurate as anything else.

I have a 580 series (newer) Mini and a Benelli MR1 and believe me, the Mini isn't anywhere close in accuracy, same ammo. It is however a touch better than the 180 series, though that's not much of a chore.
And in Canada, the Mini only takes 5 rounds max in the mag. The MR1 uses LAR 10 round mags.

To the OP, if you want a fun coyote gun and plinker, buy an MR1. If you want a super accurate predator rifle, buy something in a bolt action. If you want to shoot the sh!t out of an old barn, buy a Mini 14.
