Yes, the upper reciever has just the hammer and autosear, with no trigger. It starts with a loaded mag and an empty chamber.

Has anyone got a YouTube link of it firing? That'd be interesting to watch.

Looks like it could be fun, though highly impractical. No aiming apparatus, and is likely to fall apart from the stress. Only application I could think of for this jury-rigged AR aberration is as a room clearer. Leadspitter all the way! In Canada, such a thing couldn't even exist (under legal pretences). If I were a Yank rich enough to blow money away creating such a marksman abomination, I think it would do it just for ####s and giggles.
