What level of precision can be expected from a norinco m305 shorty out of the box?
What can be done to improve the accuracy of the rifle?
How much does the basic rifle weigh?
Would putting a wood stock on the rifle improve accuracy?
When optics are mounted how is the cheek weld?
What are the tolerances as far as ammo is concerned? anything it doesn't feed (well)?
I need convincing to buy a m305...
If an SKS is too heavy... start doing some exercise
Nope, I exercise plenty... the SKS is heavier than any of my hunting rifles, thus I dont carry it while hunting.
Don't hurt yourself weighing the pros and cons, trying an M305 is pretty painless. If you decide it's not for you the demand is high enough that you could easily flip it on the EE for a decent price and move on to something else.

The demand is high? Well the Supply is High too.
Easily bought for $400.
Not going to get anywhere near that for a used one.
So what I understand is if I bought a m14 I'd have to go to a seminar (not opposed to this)
I'd be buying the wood stock from Boyd's and bedding the action and unitizing the (gas system?) and changing the op rod guide and spring?
All of this would make more accurate rifle?
