I want to start reloading, what do I need?

evey componat can very pressure (primmers.bullets..cases powers.....and differnt firearms)......in a perfect world we would just go buy ful lot # of primers.cases, bullets and powders and work from there but most of us cant ...well i cant thats for sure .one thing i do is keep your brase in groups becouse if you loading hotter and hotter loads youll need to keep a eye on for case fatuige ...not all cases are created the same ..........have fun and as stated before work loads up from min to max laods manuals are guidlines and if you have a few youll notice info vareys from manual to manual

Oh, none of the manuals I read tell me how deep to seat the bullet using XX amount of powder? They state the maximum overall length but that's it.
Yep, I had the same b*tch when I started reloading. Very frustrating.

I would measure factory ammo for comparison. I experimented with chambering (dummy) rounds to find out where the rifling started. I searched the internet for every available source and double and triple cross referenced. And I asked fellow handloaders.

Keep at it!

Great thread! Very timely. I'm about to start reloading and the advice is very welcome.
Couple of questions - any advice on reloading .303 Br for target work for medium to long range? And what about 45-70 and or 45-90, smokeless and blacK?

im older .303 theres a bit of a variance in bullet dia. so look to see wut works best for im speer manual show .308 and .311 bullet dias and mentions varring head spaces in surplus rifles so again work loads up see how the fireare eats its food...
