I want to try target rifle at the ORA

any sight that can have 1/3-1/4 minute elevation and windage adjustments in the rear and a globe style front sight that can accept variable circle aperture inserts.
 
Typically you'd want a rifle already zeroed at 100 yards, and a good idea of how far to adjust sights up for 300 yards, which is the typical distance for intro/practice days.
 
Target rifle competitions start at 300 yards and moves back to 1000 yards. You will need approx. 25-30 minutes of elevation from your 300 yard zero depending on your bullet weight. As Boltgun has stated the sight will need to be adjustable for wind is 1/4-1/3 MOA adjustments.
I believe the ORA is going to open up allowed calibers for TR this year. I put a 6.5 Creedmore barrel on a friends Panda last year and he shot it TR Style for honours.

In the US they can shoot any caliber. Canada with it's archaic ideas that we need for follow the "Bisley Bible" or follow ICFRA Rules have been loosing TR shooters for decades and gaining very few. Time to wake up. Not everyone cares about making a Bisley Team or a Palma Team so let them shoot want they want (within the range template restrictions). If you are intent to shoot on an international team then make .308Win/155gr bullets the requirement to qualify. Also note the teams to the West Indies require shooters to shoot .308.
Who knows, maybe in another 25 years they may allow optical sights in TR.
