I was sure that I'd seen Grizz tracks but now I have the proof.

Now I know why I feel the need to carry a firearm when I check my game cams ;)

How's the trail cam after the mauling??? Pics of the damage? Oh ya, & nice rug walking around in the first shots...

Cheers

P.S. If your in the woods... Carry a gun... A gun is something that, if you really need it, nothing else will do!!!

Funny but the camera is still working ok, I just had to remount it. The Elk have been a bigger problem because they keep sticking there noses on it and rubbing against it. Would you believe that this location is less then 50km from Calgary? I've hunted there for over 15 years, 3 years ago I found a set of grizz tracks while hunting in Nov. About a month ago I found a set again so I increased the number of cams I had out and this was the first time I had checked this spot. Think I'll start hunting with the 338 instead of the 6.5x55 this fall ;)

Its hard to tell if theres a hump, but if you look at the claws. there too long for a black. plus the shape of its head. Could be a grizzz

If that's arguable that that's a blackie in calgary, I'm moving there ASAP:p

I just want to see what a "without a doubt" grizzly looks like!:p:D

Here is what they look like! This is not my picture, so hope I am not infringing, but it was all over a couple of years ago. Taken by a forester in the north Okanagan.
A year ago I came around a bend on the trail on my quad and there was a pudgy little guy, just like in this picture, color of the last one, on the trail. He scampered back in the bush, I suppose to tell mommy what he had seen.

Hahaha, black bear...

I've seen griz in areas I reallllly did not expect to see them (and was not adequately equipt for)

had a griz sneak up on me on a mountain above the nahatlatch river... Only 30 ish KM for Boston Bar BC last summer..... Boston Bar!! for crap sakes.

Last summer I was headed back to camp one night in the pitch blackness in Bow Valley and I tripped over an Elk femur with some tasty bits still attached. About a click from my camp. Better believe I snuggled up with the 1895 that night.
