I wasn't planning to buy a tactical shottie today...

...but it seems I did anyway. :D

RL1 and I took a trip to Williams Arms in Port Perry NE of Toronto. I was just going to pick up some Sierra MatchKings that I had ordered, have a look around, and kill a bit of time on a Saturday.

Well, I spotted this cool looking tactical shottie with a folding stock and very attractive price. It's made by Hatsan in Turkey, and it's an "Escort MarineGuard." Their page on it is here: http://hatsan.com.tr/escort_marine_guard.asp.

Here's a couple pics of mine:

It came with a small tactical flashlight and mount -- just not on the gun when I took the pics. There's a bunch of accessories available, too. See http://hatsan.com.tr/escort_accessories.asp. I think I might get a couple different chokes and a mag extension.

Pretty cool, and a killer deal at $395. Can't wait to take it out and go bang, bang. :)

RL1 was all overcome with the impulse shopping going on, and in the spirit of the day he bought a set of laser grips for his 10mm Glock 20. :)

I was comtiplating ( sp? ) one of these as well and havent been able to find a user review. Curious... what is the trigger group made out of? Plastic i assume? You say your package was $395 for the gun, light and mount and folding rear stock??? Did it also come with the regular stock? Single or double action guides? Barrel looks thin... how is its wieght? I own a fabby pro forces.. so barrel cant be any thinner than that. Does the folding stock fit tight when in full position... or does it have the cheaper plastic type of feel? Let us curious minds know.... :D

Damn... for the money you can't beat that... I am trying to find a website that has one listed for sale :)

$395 for aluminum receiver, folding stock and nickel finish... hot damn!

Review would be appreciated.

72mustang: The little tactical light with mount and push-button cable is not included in the $395; it was about $50 more. I haven't taken the trigger group apart, but what I can see doesn't look or feel like plastic to me. It came with the stock you see on it, but the regular one is available. You can get it either way.

The barrel is rather thin and my bathroom scale says the whole thing weighs about 6 pounds. The folding stock feels quite solid, and it locks firmly into place either folded or extended -- no wiggle. 'Course, it IS new and it might loosen up with age.

G37: I know you can get one from Williams Arms at http://www.williamsarms.net/. They're super folks to deal with and they'll ship. There's good reasons I do almost all my gun business there.

Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I'll post my impressions when I do.

It looks like it could be a Fabarms Clone; I am seeing a lot of similarities. I am going to probably order one too.

Thanks for the link!

yes...you are SUCH a bad influence...I am not sure my mother will let me go out and play with you again

man, I'm still recovering from that "coo coo" wing sauce

Im thinking it was $415 ($20 more) according to the link :D
I am going to call nice and early to get me one too...

72Mustang:
If you're feeling brave/bored, could you take some more pics? I'd like to see the trigger group and bolt.
In your opinion is it a well made piece? Barrel fits nice and tight... no tooling marks on the receiver... It seems too good to be true. If you had to say one (or two) negative thing(s) about it, what would that(they) be?

395 Brand new and he has more?

don't know what he had in the back but he had two more black ones on display (one with collapsible stock, one with fixed)

A good looking gun, for sure, but what's even better is the friendly service you get at William's. They always have time to provide advice and good suggestions, even if you're not buying. I live down the street from them and I'm always wandering in to browse.

Just picked up the Escort model. Same package, except my muzzle is a little different and colors.

While there have been both good and bad opinions here of Hatsan (no reviews I could find) I will beat the #### out of it and get back to you. :D

May not mean much as at this price point you are apt to get both good and bad guns from the same factory depending who was drinking the night before, but what the hell!

Hows this shotty holding up? How about a long term review from the OP or anyone else who has purchased one since 06?

They look like good bang for the buck.
