I imagine he's gonna rock a mock suppressor on there.

he wrote in the parts list the eliminator. Which... kinda looks like a suppressor if you'd say so...

To OP: I think you will be disapointed in a 7,5'' barrel with a 9'' rail as it is almost going to swallow the whole eliminator, and I think, though do not take my word for it, that the eliminator might be very tight in the troy
Here is my 7,5'' barrel with a 7'' rail and a dlask xb-1, which is the same lenght as the eliminator (± few mm) which I also have. Note that on the picture, it's difficult to see, but the xb-1 (same has noveske pig) has a smaller rear portion to fit a wrench. the Eliminator would extend just at the limit of the rail.

EDIT: I measured the outside diameter of the xb1 and eliminator. The eliminator has an outer diameter of 1,50''. The xb1 (like the noveske pig) has an outer diameter of 1,38''. Now, the bad news, most places you will see the troy rail having an inside diameter of 1,4''. I cannot tell wether this is hearsay or factual as I do not have any of those rails, but surely you would be disapointed trying to fit the eliminator in. So either part of your build will have to be replaced

No... Chemo got it right...

Thanks Chemo for the insight, and for going out of your way to find measurements.

I'd like to stay under 9", and for $210 the NEA 7.5" is a steal. Most others I found in the 7"-9" range were $300+.

:)

then go with a 7'' rail or if you insist on a 9'' rail, go with the jp enterprise which has a 1,75'' inner diameter or a samson, just like the one I showed, that has an inner diam of 1,56'' which JUST fits the eliminator (I have that on another gun). Altough you would not be able to install accessories forward, over where the elim is hidden.

For what I think you want to achieve, a 7.5-8'' rail would be best. I really like the Samson, so I am going to suggest you those. They make a 7,6'' rail @ 145$. PM me for details to buy one (not from me)

I like the looks of this, this is a 7.5" barrel with a 7" rail? What kind of gas lock are you running? Also, is it a carbine gas tube?

Yea, the ATRS Eliminator will not fit inside the Troy handguards. I ended up going with a shorter handguard on my blackout build to make it work.

I believe I recall Rick from ATRS saying that the hand guard can/will need to be machined.

On which rail..? The JPE handguard works for sure (as seen on the ATRS website) with the eliminator 'sleeved' inside of it.

That is the look I'm after, and the further in the rail I can get the flash hider the better.

Truth be told, getting the end of the eliminator almost flush with (1/2" - 3/4" away) the end of the rail would be ideal IMO.

And BTW, the flaming pig will fit inside a Troy TRX Extreme... This is almost exactly what I want, except in a 7.5" barrel (10.5" barrel w/ 11" rail in pic).

Good luck with your build! I look forward to completed pics!!!

You can go back, I did.

My first gun was a Busmaster XM-15 w 20''bbl

I got rails, magpul stock, Elcan C79, grips and lights.....

I then figured out how silly it was that I owned a nicer AR then I used at work.... I sold it....

Then I went through two Carbines, one 14.5'' and one 11.5''.

I gave away the 14.5'' to a friend as a weading gift (just incase the marrige went downhill at least he would have a nice rifle) Then I sold the 11.5''

I then came home from my second tour and money was burning a hole in my pocket so I bought a TAVOR Tar-21... It felt like a dream to shoulder and shoot, it was a killer cqb and accurate. It jammed on me. but I decided to pay for an entire year of university and buy a car, so I sold that......

Then I came full circle. I was teaching CrossFit and I met a Biathlete. she sold me on the sport as the greatest sport in the world.. Then she sold me on the rifle . . . .

So last month I bought a TIkka T3 Sporter, (the crazy coloured laminate stock) just about as far away as you can get from black.

I am currently in the process of turning it into a .308 Biathalon rig. Harness, handstops, ect ect..

At the end of the day I will have a nordic sport rifle at home on the bush or on the line.

Its not black, in fact considering the people who built it, I would say I went blond, and blued eyed . . . haha

Anyways ... there is hope!

I was just being witty with the title of the thread, please don't take it literally...

Got both halves yesterday, one via Canada Post & a visit to Calgary Shooting Centre for the other.

There's a small imperfection in the upper, seen in the 1st pic on the right side of the upper.

Hopefully I can "buff it out" before I get it Cerakoted...

* EDIT - not sure I like the small "shelf" that's pictured here... The fit between the two halves is very tight overall, but this kinda bugs me.

Bought a B.A.D. A-S-S today, and a new Pmag.

Ordering a short/thin lever, keeping the short/fat lever on my thumb side.

Waiting on my DPMS lpk & YHM EZ-out take-down pins.

Not keen on the rivet scratching the inside of the mag-well though.

I understand it's an issue with just about all riveted mags. LAR's from here on out.

:)
