hi i have owned a rem 870 express 12 bore laminet and although great for the price i sold it , i wasnt impressed with the metal and in general i dont share a high opinion of remington but i am just interested in your thoughts i orderd a bps 12 bore 26 in barrel and a BPS 20 guage youth model for my wife and for my kids when they get older is this a wise purchase I must admit i am byest against remington:confused:

I shot a round of trap recently with my buddy's BPS. (I shoot an 870 Wingmaster) Personally, the bottom load/eject drove me nuts. Having to turn the gun and loading one shell at a time through the bottom was kind of a pain. I also like the balance better on my WM but I guess I'm just used to it. Bottom eject I'm sure is nice in a duck blind. I have not tried to strip the gun down - the WM is dead easy to strip down and clean.

You also have to get used to the tang safety. I know this same buddy of mine missed a turkey his first time out with it last spring. He couldn't get the safety off in time because he wasn't used to the gun. (never take an unfamiliar gun hunting - not a slight against the BPS)

good choice man. I started with a BPS, sold itand went actually to semis. went through 3 semis and bought another BPS. grat guns that are durable and reliable. I'm not saying 870's are bad. lots of people shoot them.

well i got my bps 12 guage hunter today i love the wy it feels and looks cant wait to take it to the range
my wifes bps 20 bore in the micro hunter has not arived yet does anyone have any experience with the micro hunter and how well women and youth fit these guns i have herd somepeople say browning has a little long of a reach?

I shouldered the bps the other day and i loved how it felt, it is definitely going to be my choice for a shotgun.

The only thing the 870 has over the bps are the accessories available for it,they are endless. And much better priced.

I almost bought one today but that smooth Duratouch material spikes up the price by $160-$200. I decided to wait...

If you ever shoot a well used WINGMASTER your idea of Remington shotguns .
Remember the BPS is in a whole different league than the express, but the Wingmaster is equal to the BPS IMHO.

Once youu get the hang of the bottom load thing, it is a fine gun, ( ithaca 37's caused me the same grief for a bit)
I stilll like the wingmaster better, and as a shooter, not to add stuff to!

They are super smooth guns, for sure, the express is not however!

Brownings are quite long on the stock. I guess they figure if you can afford to buy a Browning, you can afford to get it fitted.

I owned a BPS for several years. I tend to place my face farther forward on the stock than most people do, I guess. The comb is really high as you get closer to the receiver on the BPS hunter and it bruised me bad many times. I'm not the only one this happened to. My cousin owned one for a while and the same thing happened to him. I've heard other people say the same thing. I think the Micro may have a different, straighter stock.

Anyway, great gun if it fits you. Brutal beast if it doesn't.
