I wonder if Leupod will warranty this!

Does it interfere with the scope usage? My wifes scope took a hit like that but it doesnt affect the scope at all (Its a good reminder for her :D ).
If you really want to try to round it back out you could put an expansion plug in the end being carefull not to touch the glass (piece of card board should work) and tighten the plug . That is how i repair (re-round) tubing that is damaged or out of round . This might work for you , but i would be worried about breaking the seal (assuming it is fine)? You might want to freeze the scope to see if the seal has been broken ?.

Unfortunatly i think the Psycological scars of your mishap will last far longer then the dent in the scope :rolleyes:

#### me. Not good, not good at all. Hey, did you notice the big dent on the objective lens housing?

I *almost* dropped my savage off the bench. It was sitting on a front bag, and I watched it in slow motion in the corner of my eye going over. I caught it by the bottom of the hollow butt stock.
 
If they don't go good on it you could do the hose clamp around some pop bottle plastic thing and then make a wood ~ plug so to speak that is the same as the ID of the bell, sand down one side with LOTS of taper to it then use a bit of grease on the wood all the way around and twist the plug so the dint rides up the ramp. Take it easy and make sure the rest doesn't egg shape and it should come right out.

So does my ZKK trigger pin have a new home yet?

Apparently Leupold does NOT warranty scopes that are dropped on work benches!:p

New objective is $82 instlaled and shipped back to me...

They claim that the internals are fine.;)
 
Not bad really, I'd be happy with that. The 3200 bushnell I need to send back because of their screw up will cost me shipping both ways. Not sure I like the idea of having to pay the return shipping on a brand new scope. At least you know yours will come back repaired. If mine comes back with a letter saying they couldn't find anything wrong I'll f*&king loose it.

Good too hear! I would say $82 is pretty reasonable.

You should look into this! This might me where they got they idea for their VX-L riflescope for 2006! Only the dent is on the bottom of the scope:eek: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
 
Looks like the new VX-L series scope mounted upside down....lol....sorry to here about your bad luck. I personally don't think it will be warrantied, but why not try. Too bad it wasnt a scope with a AO end..that way they could just replace that component. As for the flip-up covers, Butler Creeks to cover the dent up...to bad though b/c the Leupold Alumina's Flipups are sweet, and would of been a nice addition to your scope...maybe the eyepiece in Leupold, and the objective end a Butler Creek.

HERE'S MY SUGGESTION! TAKE IT INTO A MACHINE SHOP AND SEE IF THEY CAN'T TURN THE ALUMINUM BACK OUT INTO THE PERFECT CIRCLE AGAIN...THEN INSTALL A RAIN GUARD FILTER ON THE FRONT THAT ACTUALLY STRENGTHENS THE OUTSIDE RIM WITH THE ADDED THICKNESS OF THE MALE/FEMALE THREADS. I GUESS WE HAVE LEARNED A LESSON FROM YOUR STUPIDITY AND THAT IS TO WORK OVER A PADDED CLEAN SURFACE :confused: :confused: :confused:
