I'm looking at getting my boyfriend a trail camera. the thing is there is so many and its really hard to choose...The one I'm thinking of getting is the Cabela's Moultrie 5.0 Outfitter Cam w/Built-In Viewer.:)
Any info would be much appreciated

I have a stealth cam and it eats battries fast. One feature I would look at when choosing would be battery life. I know my next one will be based on that. My buddy has a moultrie (I'm not sure which model) and the battery life is really good and takes decent pictures. Good luck

I've heard bad things about the built in viewers when they are out in cold weather.

If you do a search on trail cams, you will find quite a few threads on the subject with some good info.

A great site to check out is http://www.chasingame.com

They are an independent consumer review site on trail cams. There is a ton of info on many different brands of camera's. This will give you a good idea on what options are available on cam's, and help you with a final decision.

I haven't used any yet but I have picked up a general tendency from some people who have, and from a couple of dealers, to judge that the Moultrie brand are better value than Bushnell.

I have a Moultrie D40 & I'm happy with it. It's about the cheapest you can get. I paid $99 on sale at Bass Pro. 6 D cell batteries last about 6 weeks in good weather. My only complaint would be the slow trigger time, but with experience you learn to place something that will slow the animals down long enough to trip the trigger.

I didn't think that the viewer would be good in the cold so I'm leaning towards this one more so the Moultrie 5.0 Outfitter Camera with Infrared Flash with a batterie pack just because I thought it would be better then buying batteries all the time.
Thanks for the info. I will keep reading and doing research lol then I will tell yea how he likes it
