Howdy folks....my "search" and, "Google-fu" have come up short.

A neighbour asked me if I could Identify a bolt...I'm almost certain it's a "masuer" but, no clue as to which one...

Bent handle, safety on back of bolt. The only "mark" I could see (dirty and, rusty) are 3 circles, touching each other to form a triangle...It's missing the "head".

Will post pics (hopefully tonight) and, get another good look at it. This was presented as a challenge and, yes, by asking you folks, I'm cheating!

If by head you mean bolt head, i dont think its mauser as the bolt body is an assembly.
Three circles i think is arisaka? i dont own one but I think Ive seen it on some before.

Like this maybe?

Will hopefully get some pictures up this eve...

I scrubbed some gunk off and, "three circles" might actually be a clover...(three leafed clover?)

Numbers are stamped with "our" letters (not Japanese characters). Will post a pic later.

Thanks for the input so far.

EDIT: The "clover/3 circles" are on the bottom of the cocking piece.

Now with pictures:

A shot of the three circles/clover/grapes:

To show "bolt face/head" missing

Odd extractor:

There is a serial number on the bolt handle, across the top of the bolt sleeve and, on the "slidy ring the extractor attaches to" (feel free to correct the terminology/nomenclature)

The second (shiny) bolt in the picture is from my VZ24. (don't call me Bubba...my father had the handle bent)

It looks like one of those M98 Mauser bolts that were re-jigged to fit a single shot shotgun post WW1. I used to have a bolt that looked just like this one, and that is what I understood it to be.

Like a Geha?

Either way, certainly "odd" on the front end! Not sure if thats a clover or grapes yet either...

Thanks for all the help so far!
