Id like updates form SIG 229 OWNERS !

My P229SAS runs like a champ; very accurate and solid. Think SIG BlackSpecial of the pistol world. 
When I handle it I am still in awe with the finish (how perfect and flawless it is - no crooked lines or flashing anywhere)
The design is almost perfect (my only complaint is the trigger return spring), otherwise it's a tank!
I enjoy tinkering too much and have already put in a 19# hammer spring and 17# recoil spring from Wolff - trigger feels even better now and the slide feels smoother (the stock recoil spring is so tight on the rod that I could hear it when I worked the slide - not an issue at all).
I've ordered/received all the spare parts I wanted for it as well as some extra mags.
I also bought a set of regular P229 grips to temporarily replace the wood for range use as they are thinner. I am now seriously considering buying all the parts I need for a SA/DA trigger group; that way I can swap between DAK and SA/DA whenever I like (and 15 minutes of my time).
I just ordered a Short trigger yesterday and am looking forward to its arrival; I'll post pics when it gets here.
So... in short... I do not regret the purchase and it is hands down the best pistol I've ever owned.
The only negative is the cost to me and the interest I pay VISA every month (Ugh, I need make more money).
I post all this info, because if anyone out there is a modding bastard such as myself, I suggest the DAK model as you cannot readily buy the DAK trigger group parts, but the SA/DA parts are very easy to get just an FYI

Just like my issued DA only 229, my DA/SA 229 is rock solid, accurate and reliable. I don't think I'll ever be parting with it, I like it that much. Other then the beginings of holster wear on the slide, like you would get on any other pistol I have no complaints. The fit and finish are excellent and what I've come to expect from SIG.
The only mod's I've done is put a hogue grip on it as it fits my hand just right that way.

where did you order all the parts from?
Questar should be able to get after market barrels no problem.
Just send an email asking for a 'Sig 22x' barrel in .357Sig
The recent 229's are an awesome deal because the barrels are factory barrels (thus making them production legal if that's your thing)... I don't think SIG made any .357SIG 229's for Canada.

Do you have any line on getting the DAK parts at all? I want to convert my P-220 to a DAK, and the people at Sigarms told me to go through Nicholls for parts.
Is the trigger conversion really that easy? I was worried I would have to send it out to get done. (I might still, because I'm not terribly handy.)

Slightly off topic, but go to your bank and get a line of credit. That way you can pay off the Visa, and instead of paying 18% interest, you're paying closer to prime (depending on your bank). It should save you at least 10% in interest, and with my bank the only requirement is I pay the interest every month. I can set the repayment schedule.
