Hi guys,
Can anyone help me ID this old .22 rifle? It's my father in law's. He bought it when he was 17, which is roughly 50 years ago. It says Globe Firearms ltd on the barrel. I tried googling for it...seems they are an old Montreal based importing company. I wasn't able to pinpoint what model this specific rifle might be though. A part broke and it's turning out to be quite a pain to locate a replacement. I figured with the exact model number, it'll be easier! Once I have that info, I'll contact W.G.P. Ltd to see if they have a replacement part or search on the internet for it.

There are two metal parts that are screwed in from the bottom opening (http://picasaweb.google.ca/dpoisson/22#5337733859126836290), one atop the other: A guide rail of some sort for the magazine and another that locks the mag in place. The latter one is the broken one (bottom right part on this pic):

If need be, we'll solder something in, but it would be nice to get a stock replacement for it!

Cheers and thanks for the help!

Found it!

I believe I found which rifle this is...

It's a NAACO Grizzli No 20. I've seen others after seeing some on sale in the EE forums.

Does anyone have one? I'd have a question concerning the "magazine catch" piece...

Thanks!

YOu might need to take it to a gunsmith and have them make the part.

Hi rifleman,
Unfortunately, I'm turning to the Internet after being told by a gunsmith that finding the magazine catch part was impossible and that it was simpler to just get a new rifle.

With some help from westerngunparts.com, I think I was able to pin-point which part I need. I would love to confirm this however with someone that has the same rifle as I do.

Cheers,

Fish
