I've been following this story on another forum and just wanted to share this with you guys.

Dr. Steve Best, known eco-terrorist, who is also a professor at UTEP, has put a $1000 bounty on a Idaho trapper for posting a video of a trapped wolf on the net. He also, published the trapper's address online. I hope this terrorist get some jail time for incitation to murder.

I read on here that's he's even banned from entering in the UK.

I have a trappers license and I'm not a big fan of the leg hold traps, but that aside, it goes without saying that trapping in general is not for the faint of heart or the average city slicker. Most of the anti's do not give a moment's thought to where their steaks or leather goods come from. Their brains would probably melt.

That said, posing with the still alive, trapped wolf pacing inside a circle of blood stained snow was probably not this trapper's smartest decision. By doing so, and then publicizing it, he unwittingly offered himself up as a poster boy for those who oppose all forms of hunting, trapping and the like. Not a good move.

I totally agree, it wasn't the most ethical thing to do for the trapper to post the video online without thinking he wouldn't get any flak from the antis. It still doesn't excuse the terrorist's actions and intents.

considering i'm highly against allowing animals to suffer and they should be dispatched asap, i could care less if mr. trapper gets a little taste of his own medicine. obviously he doesn't deserve to be killed over an animal, but he definitely deserves a good ass kicking for videoing the animal rather than dispatching it as soon as he arrived.

that said, all you can do is LOL at his address being posted online. what a putz...

i kind of think someone should offer a $2000 bounty for this guy and see how he likes it ;)

pm with proof to collect :p

disclaimer* this is a joke if that wasn't completely obvious!

Wow, just Wow

Animals in traps are there until they are killed by the trapper, when the trapper gets there.
They may "suffer" for quite a while. All of which is considered humane enough to be legal.
A short video is only a snapshot of reality, a reality which most people insulate themselves from, and then are "shocked" (with their "moral" self-righteous self-superiority and created indignation) when faced with it.

The trapper has opened the door for the 'anti' crowd. Not a very smart move, and he has damaged other outdoor users......mabey he should find another vocation, or 'clean up' his photos. Seems there was a thread about photography not long ago.

The threats, if they are real and can be proved, are a matter for the legal system......and can be dealt with in that forum.

Image is everything nowadays, and weather we like it or not, our actions will be viewed by someone-somewhere......example: RCMP and Ian Bush, Robert Dziekanski, and all the other things that they, and others have got away with in the past. Those days are gone......

I dont really agree with him showing off the photo but this is a trap line and that is what happens on a trapline,no doubt some trappers are more humane than others.Keep in mind city dwellers this wolf would hamstring you and eat the guts out of you while your still screaming if it got the chance. If you need proof watch some video of them taking down an animal.

This stuff drives me bananas.

Wow, just Wow

so, you're saying it's acceptable for someone to sit back and videotape an animal that is suffering simply because they want footage of the critter in a leg hold trap?

i have zero issues with trapping, but i have a big problem with people that intentionally prolong the suffering of animals. if a hunter wounds an animal they're expected to finish the job asap rather than screwing around with a camera. could you please explain how this is any different.

Ugly business should be done quickly, without grins and photo ops. If I have to kill, so be it, but I'm not a psychopath, I don't enjoy the death bit, even if the hunt is exhilarating. Life = death, naturally.
