Ideal Bush gun

I would really like an RFB for hunting the thick stuff. I've also considered a Beretta Storm carbine in 45ACP, with a non restricted barrel. I'd load it pretty hot, maybe use 45-08 brass. Bet it would slam the heck out of a deer at 100 yards.

What kind of numbers are we talking with that load? I wouldn't be too keen about a factory round that leaves the muzzle with only 400 ft lbs... But was does this hot version carry? What size bullet, and what kind of velocity would one expect at 100 yards?

Assuming the Berrtta can withstand the 45/08 pressure (i have no idea if it can) then you have something in the 44 magnum performance range.

Resurrecting a thread ... I found this Remington 7615 Police VERY handy in heavy bush this past week (was loaded with Barnes Vortex TSX 55gr full copper bullets) the rifle slung very low and didnt hang up on low brush when you needed two hands to push through heavy undergrowth and was well balanced for one handed carry in open areas. Too bad the leaves were so dry --- I couldnt move a step without loud noises! No snow .. too bad. Spent some quiet time whittling here and listening to squirrels scold me.I tied some flagging tape to the knife -- a Lone Wolf T2 IMG_20161113_154838_opt-1xx.jpg
