I have a spamnco and I love it . Its loud though but the rifle doesn't kick it just gently pushes now no more push then a sks.
So what is the best way to get a AR muzzle break on a m305 shorty? Can the shorties be re-threaded to fit, or do i need a longer barrel cut down? Also, can anyone recommend someone to do the work for me?
Regards
Nope. There should be enough meat on the muzzle of a shorty to cut its diameter down to 1/2" and thread it. It would be a job for a lathe as you need the brake on straight.
Nope.
It would make it a restricted. Although Lazerous2000 and M14.ca are coming out with there own idea of this type of adaptor that will allow the same sort of idea to occur.

Cause there is very little meat left on the barrel. How would reducing the diameter of the barrel make it restricted? The rules are about length.
The area beneath the metric threads is .540 diameter. You could cut that down to 1/2" diameter and thread to 28 tpi.
I like the adapter you show, but where to get one in Canada?

I have been barking up that tree for months but Dlask had to show me before I shut my mouth up on that subject.
Plus to boot. If you screw up on it the barrel is pouched cause you can't cut it off and try re-threading it again.
As for that adaptor M14.CA will be making it soon according to Larry (Lazerous2000) on m14forum.com

My older shorty has been cut down and threaded 1/2-28. Any competent gunsmith should be able to do it.
IIRC, Casey at TacOrd did my rifle for the previous owner.
And, I'm still looking for .30 cal brake threaded 1/2-28.
Yes that is completely true but on the shorty 18.5 inch factory barrel's you can not do this.My older shorty has been cut down and threaded 1/2-28. Any competent gunsmith should be able to do it.

OwwHere's my shortened barrel, ready to install.
