Ideal Reddot sight setup - Just thought I would share!
So I was recently on a hunt for a reddot, and a reddot mount for my Czeski (my dad and I nicknamed my that; the Polish word for "Czech", since my dad always refers to it as the "czech gun").
I got frustrated trying to figure out a good mount, since I didn't like the fabarm stuff, and I couldn't make my own due to a lack of Machining tools...I had AMAZING ideas....just couldn't make them happen.
Now, I had known about NEA stuff (as many of you have) for a long time, but had never paid it attention.
I was perusing the pages of the EE, and found a Vortex Strikefire reddot from a good guy, and bought it. I then thought, OH CRAP! ITS THE AR HIGH mount. #####.
Well, turns out it was lucky that I DID get that one.
As you can see in the pics, if you can get yourself an NEA handguard set, or just the upper like I did (off another great CGNer), then mount a Strikefire (or other Reddot) with the Vortex see through HIGH mount for the AR, you can still PERFECTLY use your iron sights!
So reddot + factory iron sight for long range/BU = WIN!
Just thought I would share this info with anyone else looking to get a really good setup going.
I am sure someone else already discovered this, but I am sure there are many people out there looking for a easy to use setup that allows for the use of the factory Iron Sights very well.
ALSO the field of view in my Vortex DOES not include the front Iron sight (it remains invisible). I only see it when I dip my head down and look through the see-through hole in the mount that I can line up my rear and front sights perfectly.
So it is 100% perfect in my opinion. Also, both products are very solid and amazing, also well priced (new or used). NEA upper handguard for the CZ858 and the Vortex Strikefire with the AR HIGH mount.
**SIDE NOTE: mind you, my NEA guard is probably going to get a nice matching coat of Krylon camo soon... I think the Optic will Stay Black...maybe not. LOL I love doing Camo work!).
