Ideas for AR15/rifle mag change drills training at home?

I don't wanna mess up the LAR15 with those GSDesign extension at home. Unless I fully thick carpet my garage there bound to be some mistakes with the mag hitting the concrete floor thus damaging it.

Option #1 for me is those blue mag but oh boy they cost even more than some real mags from online sites that I found.

Option #2 is to get cheaper poly mags but if they don't drop free I can't mod them as I heard it is better to not mod mags for legal reason. So that kinda limit my choices of mags.

Is there a third option or is there any other suggestions? Is there any places sell 3D printed solid plastic blue mags that are more affordable? Are these legal? I dunno.... blue mags are just a solid block of plastic so it looks ok to me. But well I can't find these anyway.
 
id say just get a couple gen 3 pmags and just go hog wild. i drop them onto concrete without a second thought and have never had on break. all the mags i own have hit concrete many times and i've never had a problem.

alternatively you could just get some magpul L-Plates for usgi mags. essentially a big bumper floorplate.

Costco has those honeycomb rubber mats for the garage floor. I practice my mag drops on them. Seen here in a pic I took of a gear hauler idea I was working on.

Can you not practice in the house? Or did your wife confine you to the garage?
Another option is to get a dump pouch and put your empty mags in there. This obviously doesn’t work if you’re trying the Haley tactical mag launch. Or minimize practice on emergency reloads and focus on TAC reloads. More complicated and you don’t need to drop mags. If you can TAC reload fast, you can E reload fast also.
 
The absolute best place for any kind of mag change practice is standing over your bed.
The mags don't get hurt and you don't have to bend over much to pick them up.

Might want to wait until the spouse gets up first, though.

If you master the art of the mag flip you don't have to worry about damaging them or bending over to pick them up lol.
