Ideas on how to hide some IUR rail damage?

Got my Colt IUR "factory second" upper yesterday. And this isn't a thread about #####ing as I still think its a pretty good deal and I knew it would be damaged. This is going to have some cheaper parts mounted to it, but I wish they would have dropped it on the bottom.
Anyway, the damage on mine is a small piece of metal missing out of the top rail. It's to far back for a sight to cover it and to far forward for optics to cover it.
Paint? Markers?
Any tips on how to disguise this a bit?

Sharpie colour wipes off when they get oiled. That Aluma Black is like cold blue. I've tried permanent ink markers, paint pensand the aluma-black worked the best.

A sure way to have that ding not bother you anyone is to take a hammer and punch and put a matching ding on the other side, then "accidentally" drop the gun on your driveway.

If you're actually going to use it properly, that won't be the only blemish that firearm has for long. If it's going to be a safe queen you shouldn't have bought a second.
What's the problem?

As already mentioned they are character marks. AR's should not look pristine to the point of looking like toys anyways.
