I have a CZ527 in 7.62 x 39 which I handload for as its not a deer legal calibre here for medium and large deer unless it makes 1700 foot pound. I have the chance of another with a sewer pipe bore where the dealer fired a stack of corrosive through it and forgot to clean it. Now I have a client asking for one in a 6.5 calibre, here we need to be calibre specific on our license applications and I figure I will hand load or teach him to so what calibre should I get the new barrel in bearing in mind it will want a 100 to 140 grain 6.55 mm bullet and is limited to a 39mm case as thats what the action is designed around (that and .223 in the 527)?
I will be happy to custom form his brass as well, it will be an intersting labour of love for me.

The 6.5 Grendel is the name given to the 6.5X39. Brass is made by Lapua for the 6.5 Grendel, so unless you have bucketful's of 7.62X39, I don't see the point in reforming brass. It looks like you'll get 2500 with a 130 gr bullet which breaks 1800 FP's of energy. Good luck and good shooting.
