Identification of military scope mount/base please.

Can anybody tell me what this military scope mount/base is for ? On one side it has a cast-in number which may be a USA manufacturing number while on the other side, a different stamped-in number has an Insraeli letter or symbol after the number ? The scope base area is identical to the scope base area on the standard Galil scope base that slides into the Galil receiver cavity milled into the receiver for that purpose; consequently this mount/base would take the same scope that goes on a Galil; however the
mount/base in question does not fit on a Galil.

Its US but Isreal used a lot of US equipment and would have made their own as well (same with the sights).
