Identify target rifle

I'm hoping that someone here can help me identify a Walther target rifle that I bought used in the early 1980's. I would like to know the model and if possible what year it was manufactured. The next time someone asks me about it at the range, I would like to be able to offer more information than "it is an old Walther target rifle."

Here are the specs:

Overall length - 41-7/8"
Stock - 31"
LOP - 13-7/8"
Barrel - 25-1/2" (to breech face)
Weight - 10 lbs.

The top of the barrel has 7-1/2" grooves cut just ahead of the action, left side is stamped Kal. 22 l.f.B., and there is a proof mark stamped close to the action.

The WALTHER logo is stamped on the top of the action, over the chamber. The front left side of the action has a proof mark, serial number (0098XX), below the serial number it says MADE IN GERMANY. On the rear of the action, on top it says Carl Walther, Sportwaffenfabrik.

There are no other markings anywhere on the rifle. Here are some pics, if some closeups of certain parts would help, let me know.

That is one beautiful rifle! I believe that I may know the model number, but the real expert on identifying these old Walthers is 'Prairiewalker'. Perhaps you should send him a PM.
 
There is a date stamp on the barrel were it meets the reciever, it should have the last 2 digits of the year of manufacture, ie(67) 1967
The gun looks to be one of Walthers UIT rifles, here are the possiblilities I see listed in the Blue Book

UIT BV MATCH 25.5" BARRELL,APER. SIGHTS,TARGET STOCK WITH PALM REST,16 LBS

UIT MATCH SAME AS ABOVE BUT WITH STIPPLED CHECKERING, 13 LBS

UIT-E ELECTRONIC TRIGGER 25.5" BARRELL, 9 LBS

I hope a Walther expert comes around as I only collect post war sporters, and have no interest in the target guns, as have to many other brands already,HAHA, good luck and great rifle, Dale Z!


PS you are missing the factory butplate!

I did not think to list the weight . . . I've edited my original post (the rifle weighs approx. 10lbs.).

Zywina . . . I can not see a date code, maybe it is covered by the stock. Where would it normally be stamped? Also, the orange rubber butt pad appears to be original.

P.S. I've tried searching for "Prairiewalker" but I can't find anything . . . how do I pm him?

This website( paste it without the space between the tt) has a downloadable manual that has a rifle similar to yours. In the Walther section choose Walther Smallbore Rifles.
Yours looks to be an early KKM or a KK UIT. It is too early to be any of the items that zywina posted. Early to mid 60s vintage. Very nice shape for its age.

Thank you for the reply, I will check out the link you provided. I've had several other people (on other forums) confirm that it is an early to mid 60's KKM, possibly with UIT stock.

She definitely is a beauty . . . won me a turkey this past weekend at a local turkey shoot!
